Does anybody know or know where to look to find out why a person's toenails might fall off? It's the wierdest thing! They don't hurt, they just came off when I went to cut them. Three have came off so far. I can't find any info about it. Any ideas?? I know this is crazy, but try to be serious, okay? :)

Is it anything to worry about or just some crazy thing to ignore?

I wear sandals or go barefoot usually. So my feet get lots of air.

Darling, I would not call losing your toenails a little thing. What if you start losing your fingernails? It may be something that can be taken care of with a little medication. Better to take care of it now rather than wait. If you can't see a doctor, then ask you local pharmacist, maybe he can advise you. Good luck

Same thing happened to me several years ago.My nail simply came loose and the fell off. There was only some pain from my shoe rubbing against my small toe.Which went away in a couple days.
Back then I was running about 4 to 6 days a week.Almost always in the morning.Soon after showering and changing clothes I would put on another pair of shoes for the rest of the day.Later on realizing that I was not letting my feet air out more often.
For me, I would take my shoes off more often.Wear athletic (walking/cross-training) shoes with the mesh fabric over the toes. Not the all leather shoes.Especially during the summer months.Clean socks and medicated foot powder.
Its most likely a fungal infection. But eventually my nail did grow back.

Sounds like nail fungus. Is some or all of them yellow-ish,thick and brittle? If so, thats nail fungus. And it is no little thing for your nails to fall off on there own! Are you Diabetic? Have they grew back? Go to a Dr.

I dont know, but its better than having them removed surgically. I had my two bog toenails removed and then had the growth cells killed with an acid!

You may have a calcium / keratin problem. Talk to your doctor!
