Don't overfeed your Rottie, or put it on highly concentrated "premium" food. A balanced puppy formula - one developed for large breed puppies is your best bet. Keep him on the lean side, and keep the treats and high protein supplements away. Let him free feed unless he's a hog. If he fails at free feeding, or if another pet is going to steal his food, measure his food and feed him what is recommended - start with the least amount recommended for his age and weight, and adjust to keep him fit - not fat and not skinny. Let him exercise on his own terms, but give him daily opportunities.
The biggest factor in how big and strong your Rottie gets is determined more by genetics than anything else. His nutrition is secondary to this. IMHO, a good Rottweiler, with healthy genes, fed Purina Puppy Formula, will grow up big and strong as he's supposed to be. The same puppy, overfed on highly concentrated premium food, may be so plagued with orthopedic problems that he may never grow up at all.
People tend to equate high performance animal's needs similarly to high performance automobiles. Keeping the Ferrari full of high octane is a good thing - stuffing the turbo puppy full of premium may ruin it's performance.
I've always liked Nutro Max, but your puppy will do just fine if fed any balanced, reputable diet in reasonable amounts.
Oh, and my big strong Rottie recommends you get your puppy out to socialize and into obedience classes! Yours will be big and strong before you know it.

Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. I highly recommend natural organic foods with no preservatives, such as Wysong and Eagle Pack. The amazing thing is that your dog with have a healthy coat and live a healthier life. Our veterinarian also recommends giving meat to our dogs. If we're making dinner, there is always an extra piece on the grill just for the dogs. You wouldn't want to feed your children regular dog food, why would you want to feed your pets that either?

75 % pork (or any other meat)
15 % potatoes
10 % carrots
5 pinches of salt
Feed 3 times a day.
All of those should be
more than what you eat.
