Confession isn't a good enough reason to be forgiven, they should stay locked up.

Sins are forgiven when a person repents (turns away from sin). Read 2 Chronicles 7:14. A confession means nothing if the person has no remorse, no intention of repenting. Also, Acts 10:43 says you must believe in Jesus Christ to be forgiven.

Confession does not release you from sin, its the act of repent when you confess. So if you donot really regret having done so and are not resolute to change your ways when you confess, then it is not a real valid confession...
There is God's law and men's law. We do not live in a theocracy (yet) so just because God forgives you does not mean society does...

It is good to confess and have you sins forgiven but how do we know which are truly sorry and who isn't? They still owe a debt to society and it must be paid for. We who have been redeemed fortunately in the next life our debt of sin has been paid for.

u r confessing your sins before god. it is left to HIM whether u will be punished or forgiven. if it is your first sin or u have done it without your knowledge , he might forgive u. if u have sinned purposely even god will not forgive u.even in the court law ,if u confess & if it is your first offence you will be pardened with a warning. but you will be punished if u repeat the same mistakes again & again. confessing means u have accepted your mistake & u r promising that it will not be repeated again.u r punishable if u repeat the same mistake again.

Is there a question here?

In case you were in some kind of confusion you really are, confession means that you will not suffer eternal damnation for your sins, but you will indeed suffer the earthly consequences of it = its not right but retribution will not be seeked against you.

Ditto. Skipped cathechism class eh?

God bless the police who keep criminals off the streets and away from society.

Your statement is illogical.
