My kitten is about 3 weeks old, but shes acting very strange. First of all, she always lying down and never wanting to get up, she's very limp. Secondly, she leaves her mouth open and gives short 'meows' and doesn't want to eat. Thirdly, when she lies down sometimes, she starts "air kicking" with all her legs and tilts her head backwards and cries. What is wrong with her?

Right now, she's just laying there staring into space, and gives a few short meows. She just started acting like this like 30min-1 hour ago. I don't know any vets open right now. Is there anything i can do in the mean time until morning?

it's so hard seeing a young life passing by me. to watch her suffer with a few faint meows. she's probably imagining the sweet life with her balnk stares. God will take good care of her, like i know he's doing with my first love/pet. looking at her former owners and her condition with fleas from when i first got her, i think she was destined to live and die young. sadly, she cant live to be an adult, but she'll live forever as a kitten. young and playful is what she'll be forever.
all the best to you on your way to heaven. from there, everything will be puuurrrfect. i promise.

Poor darling....
When did these people gave it to you?.... Perhaps they new she was sick.... and where did they get a 3 weeks old cat?
I am not a vet, but these symptoms sound like some kind of poisoning..., but can be anything I suppose....
Go see a vet anyway to inquire about the possibilities....
I'm sorry you lost her... At that age, they are very fragile... and you have to go to a vet at the first sign of bizareness... If no ride to the vet, how would you go to an emergercy if you cut youself badly? ... Take a taxi....
Don't feel bad though... it isn't your fault... Accidents with young kittens do happen...My 4 kittens are only 14 days old... and already 2 incredible accidents happend or it looks that way... Yesterday I drove for 2 hours trying to save one of the four that was simply inconcient when I check on them... When I finally found the emergency vet clinic, I realize that he was actually dead, although I kept hoping...
He was my favorite and the most beatiful...and although I have several other cats, I feel the lost deeply...
Today as i am checking the 3 others to make sure those are all right, I pick up my only all silver one and saw a big white musk on his right eye... I had many kittens in my life an never saw this before... I gently whiped it off with a little mineral oil and kleenex... and notice a little scratch on the side of his eye... Their eyes only stated opening 3 days ago..., so all of them have one open and one still closed... Problem is, I came back from work tonight and check on him again... I saw that instead of a close lid (or open lid) he has a little crater hole... so, now it is for sure... he lost an eye... why? reason unknow... It could have been defective, but also, with the scratich I saw... it possible was a simple accident... Did one of thee other scratch him looking for the mother's feeding, perhaps? id he scratch his ownself by accident? could be... Now though, ths beatiful baby has only one eye to face a whole lifetime... He is condemned to be a house cat
and it may be difficult to find a serious good home for him... I feel so bad.... Both, mother and father are so affectionate, he will be adorable no matter...
Yes, at that age, you have to bring them to a vet at the first signs
or they may very well die... for all kind of different reasons....
If this is a first cat for you, better adopt one that is a little older like 6 months or so..., but where on earth did those people get that cat from? My inside feeling is that they may have found her abandoned by the owner...., but she may have been poisoned
on purpose than simply abandonned anywhere... If you ever found out, please let us know....
Good Luck....
Oh my God.... on't tell me she had flees!!!!
That , I know what may have happened.....
If the owners use PET DUST on her at 3 weeks old... She dies...
That product kills flees, but also large bugs.... and can not be use on cats under 12 weeks old.... The kitten dies.....
Bet you.... and yes, exactly.... POISONING....
If you want, you cant still have her check at the vet, but this woul not be a first.... So sorry......

Firstly, I am so sorry about your loss.
Secondly, thank you for taking the best care you could of a kitten that didn't belong to you. To me you sound like a very caring person, and I wish that there were more people in the world like you.
You say that people walking past you just gave you the kitten, perhaps she was poisoned or hit by a car.
Once again sorry for your loss and may the kitten R.I.P.

Take her to the veterinarian. She is very sick. She's young enough that it may be a congenital condition, or she may have an airway obstruction, or any other number of things. But, the underlying cause is really not even the most important thing at this point - she is suffering, she is in distress, and what's most important is that she gets help immediately.

Hi Joanne...Your kitten definitely is in need of urgent care...if I knew where you were located I could help you with the internet searches to find someone nearby.
However, to locate a vet in your region with the help of the Internet go to Google and type "vet [your city]" and then hit enter. It will pull up a list of vets in your region. Local shelter type "humane society [your city]" for a list of shelters to see if they can help you as well.
Oh....Joanne! It's so sad to hear this. Thank you for letting us know even though she is going to cross over to Rainbow Bridge: http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm
