To be honest, it's only fun when you can control yourself. Yes, there are alcoholic drinks that taste bad and some that taste good. But it's all preference. As for me, I never had any sick moments nor a hangover.

Hey, but I do respect your standing on alcohol. If that's what you choose then the better you are!

No, you're not the only one - I can't stand the taste of alcohol, it makes everything taste rancid. In my youth I tried to go along with the whole drinking thing, but found it only made me tired and sick. I am lucky/ crazy enough to do all the wild stuff other people only do with alcoholic aid and approach the dancefloor with the first on, last off attitude. I stopped even trying to drink alcohol after my 21st birthday and haven't touched a drop in the last ten years. Can't say I've missed it for a second.

i have a drink once in a while, but I also don't feel the need to be drunk to have a good time. I have only been drunk once, and that was enough.it irratates me a bit when we get together with friends and they are all getting sozzled, but won't respect the fact that i have no inclanation to doso. they say things like ,"come on, relax ,have a drink and some fun with us" to which i have to point out that i have been quite lively and am not sitting in a corner feeling excluded. i have no problem that others enjoy alcohol for their reasons, and even when they start acting a little strange , i go with the flow. maybe they are scared that we, are going to remind them of their behaviour at the next oppurtunity, which incidentally i don't do. it's all a matter of choice.

Personally I hate the taste of beer but don't mind getting drunk. I can handle myself and have only ever had 3 hangovers in my 9 years of drinking. You don't have to be drunk to rip the dancefloor to shreds. The dancefloor is about expressing yourself and if you need to get a bit tipsy to have fun.....what does that say about someone. Hey there's another one for Yahoo! Answers.

I don't dance, don't look for the limelight, love drinking, but don't go as far as getting drunk (okok, I got drunk 5times in my life).

I like whisky (JW Black, neat), vodka (Smirnoff, flavoured)...
I love the taste and the fact that it helps me relax, or care less.

When I got drunk, yes, the next day I was very tired.

So I guess you are not the only one, and other type of people also share the same liking for alcohol as you.

Just one thing, especially since you dance a lot, make sure you drink plenty of water, will help you stave off the ill-effects of alcohol, so you can dance more and be less likely to get drunk.

Have fun!

Well young Niamah, what you have to discover is what your alcohol tolerance level is - i.e. how much (if any) alcohol you can consume without feeling tired, tearful and/or sick. Having discovered that level - stick with it and don't go above it - that is your alcohol tolerance level.

It might also depend on what precisely you do drink - obviously spirits have a higher alcohol level than wines, and in turn wine tends to have a higher alcohol content than beer or ale.

Mixing wine spirits and beer is also bad news. Whatever you commence drinking at the start of an evening - stick with for the whole evening and don't mix wine with beer or wine with spirit or spirit and beer.

Alcohol per se is not necessarily a bad thing - everything in moderation.

No, you aren't the only one! In fact if there were more honest people like you in the world then it would be a better place. A lot of people pretend to like the taste of beer/wine/alcohol in general because they think that is the proper thing to do.

In addition to the above you might find that you have an alergy to alcohol like me. I can't drink it and gave up at 34 because my body just couldn't handle it anymore. Even the smallest amount throws my stomach into turmoil.

I don't particularly enjoy alcohol either.. sometimes in dinners, parties, nights out, I may get a little sidetracked and have a couple of drinks.. however whenever I crossed the line and had one too many, I really despised going to bed and have spinning head .. feel at ease with your consciousness.. the alcohol cult is neither a good one and certainly not a healthy one either

i tried different types of alcohol, wine, rum, on a few occasions and i didn't like the taste of them. even though i'm 25, it seems as if my palate and tastebuds cannot seem to accustom to the taste. although having said that, i am not really keen alcohol at all. the strong smell of it puts me off from drinking it. i tried rum and coke once, and yet due to the rum it was too strong for me and so with my request the bartender put more coke in it. the one good thing for me is that as i dislike alcohol, it means that i for one cannot get drunk.

Of course you're not the only one. People getting drunk are horible to see and not noce to be with..... A drink or 2 are ok, but getting drunk is different. You don't even enjoy your night out!
