According to my calendar, and being all West Coast, I'll be celebrating on the 23rd outside, with a roaring fire, after a large meal of harvest type foods. I'll rid myself of all negative energies, and fill myself with the new energies of the season.

Heck it might even be with friends :)

My due date is the 18th and they might induce me anytime after that so as of right now, it's looking a little eventful for me. I have a feeling that if my kid does come out by then, my hands will be full so I'm planning a (very) simple low key harvest/autumn celebration.

Most likely, if I'm at home, I'll spend the day with my family. I'll help pick the last things from the garden and I'll be thankful that the garden gave us so much this year. I'll probably bake a loaf of zucchini bread with my gramma and help my dad out while he smokes/bar-b-ques all day. I'll light some of my fall scented candles like pumpkin spice and gingerbread and I'll start pulling my winter clothes out of the attic. I'll start to think about the part of the year ahead, the darkness, the cold, the early days and long nights. Then I'll take a bubble bath and remember how much I missed those baths in the hot weather.
That and taking care of a newborn/being overly pregnant should keep me pretty busy so thats all I'm taking on right now.

We observe the first day of autumn (23 September 2006 12:03 am EST) as an agricultural holiday. We'll visit farm markets and cook a large meal, do yard work to ready the plants for winter and decorate our home for autumn. We will observe the balance between light and dark and look forward to a slower pace of life over the winter months.

In my tradition, our next religious holiday won't be until Samhain (first week of November).

I'll be celebrating late this year because I'm moving soon. I want to have a combination harvest/housewarming party. I don't normally do any formal rituals because I'm mostly agnostic and don't believe in magic at all. I will share a bottle of wine with the trees at my new hiome next week, not sure I'll actually manage on the actual day because of work and weather but I'll try.

Actually, thisworldly concerns (a/k/a work) force me to move it to September 23rd, the weekend.

Reclaim the beach, have a barbecue with my best friend (and former coven sister), and go surfing, that's what I'm doing!!!

I don't. I celebrate March 21st. And I do that by running nekkid through the woods and making love with all my other nekkid pagan friends who are running through the woods.

My coven has a nice "thanksgiving" type feast and small ritual. :)

By meditation. Or at least I will any way.
