God created people and placed them in a perfect world that was free from sin and death. But people thought they knew better than God (when they were tempted by Satan) and chose to make up their own rules, which brought sin into the world, and death as its punishment. God did not create people to die; He wanted them to live in His perfect world. This is why its so hard for us to see people die. Somehow all humans know that death is not right, its not the way God made us. But God didn't just sit back and watch Satan ruin His perfect world; He made a way for people to live a life free from sin and death again. Sin must be punished, but Jesus came to take the punishment for anyone who would accept it. I've accepted Jesus' payment for my sin and I know that when I "die" it will only be the corrupted body that I live in now that dies. God has promised me a new body in His world that will be free from sin and death forever. But for people who don't accept Jesus' payment, they will spend eternity separated from God and in anguish. If I'm wrong about all this and when I die I just cease to exist, I haven't lost much. But if I'm right, then all the people who thought they would just cease to exist have lost a whole lot.

You're asking what's on the other side of death. Science could never answer that question. If there's no God, the answer is there's nothing on the other side of death. You go into the grave and the worms eat you. The no God theory is called atheism. That's another thing that could never be proved. Trying to prove atheism is like trying to prove a universal negative. It can't be done. The common sense evidence is just the opposite. The universe is filled with design which demands that there must be a designer somewhere. Anyone who could design a universe must be a God. Only God could tell you what's on the other side of death. You'd have to examine all the different religions and find one that you think is of God(there can't be more than one because all the religions contradict each other). My answer is christianity. The christian religion teaches that Jesus was God and He did die and go to the other side and come back(the resurrection). He is quite qualified to tell us what's on the other side. The christian religion teaches that when you die you will be judged not according to what kind of life you lived but according to whether your sins were paid for. Those who had their sins paids for will spend eternity with God in heaven. Those who have not had their sins atoned for will spend eternity separated from God. How does one get his sins paid for. He turns to Christ and accepts Christ as his personal savior since it was Christ who paid for those sins on the cross. It's an exchange. We give our lives to Christ. He covers our sins with his blood and gives us eternal life in exchange.

Completely cease to exist. Before I was conceived, I was nothing, while I live I am nothing more than a self-aware macro electrochemical reaction, when I no longer can maintain the ongoing flow of that reaction, I will die, my components will dissipate, and I will again be nothing. There is balance and comfort in this, for me. Anything else makes no sense to me.

Since I believe in life after death, I'll go to where I deserve out of the kind of life I have been living. Hell or Heaven? I think I'll go to Heaven if I believe and live rightly and righteously, which I am trying to maintain by not hating others even if they hurt me or I hurt them, by being faithful to my wife and family, true to my duties and obligation. I believe in God. His saving grace assures those who believe and worship Him.

When I die or my body ceases to exist, then it rots but my soul goes back to Creator God and shares in His Glory. I'll be seeing there Muslims and Christians and many others of different religions on earth praising and loving God and loving one another. no more war. In Heaven there is no war. There will be no more questions and answers there because there is no need anymore.

When our bodies die, our souls continue to live in the spiritual world which encompasses this world.
The conditions of our souls differ as hell or heaven based on our noble or evil actions here.
You can read "The Book of Certitiude" revealed by Baha'u'llah to understand more about God, man and the world. This Book is easily accessible at the Gutenberg Project.

According buddhas teaching. There are a lot of possibilities. The most important thing is your last thoughts. That drive you into another life. But your last thought depends on what you have been doing in your whole life. If you have been doing good things, you will have good thoughts. If you have been doing bad things, you will have bad thoughts. Because it become a habit of your mind. And it is also affected by your Karma.

Who says your not reliving your life over and over now? Those de-ja-vu's that people keep on having...those are the past lives of something that they did in the past. We're all losts souls trying to amind to the things that god made us do...try to figure out the meaning of what life is? but society has it all wrong. it's not the meaning of life we need to find, it is the purpose of life. So if our purpose is to find a better life for one another thats what we need to do, thats our salvation in life. But we're not going towards that, we're still searching for the meaning of an answer that does not exist...and that is a our hell therefore our death...is nothing...death is what we make it...
