anyone out there "thai yai" or speak "shan"???

i was just wondering if there is anyone else in the states that speaks "shan" because no one here in southern california knows about "thai yai" or "shan"... outside my family that is...

There are plenty of them in Northern Thailand along the Thai-Myanmar border.
Sorry, but I don't speak the language at all.
