Hmm...you must mean how to compute the fuel input to a generator?? Ok, assume that it is a gas-turbine driven generator. Assume that the generator has 95% efficiency. Assume that the turbine is 65% efficient. Assume that the load that the generator is connected to is, say, 1000kW. Then the power transferred across the shaft = 1000/0.95. Then the input to the turbine is (1000/0.95) / 0.65 kW. Elec to Mech conversion: 1 HP = 746W(?? look this up). You now have the answer in HP. Can you now go from HP of the engine to typical fuel consumption in petrol in litres to do a certain quanta of work? I would use the example of a 220HP car that would consume 1 gallon of gas for 22 miles at 60MPH. Use that to estimate the fuel consumed by the turbine-generator to generate 1MWH.

If you buy a generator with a fuel tank, they will usually tell you how many gallons per hour it takes to supply a given load.

See

For an example. This datasheet tells how many hours a tankful of gas will last at full load and 1/2 load.
