Someone asking "Can God create a rock so heavy that not even He can lift it?" Or the one involving Jesus and the burrito. Is it asked too often, or do you just not have an answer? Would it be wrong of me to ask if this is possible? :)

The second one goes "Can Jesus heat up a burrito so hot that not even He can eat it?"

In response to Regina P, this question, either side you take, would mean that God's almighty power would not be almighty. If he could lift it, then his ability to create is limited. If he could not lift it, then his strength is limited. Like one of them said, it's basically a trap.

Christians get offended by such a question because it is a tacit critique of omnipotence. Remember that most people don't come to faith through logic and critical thinking, but rather through an emotional connection, with family, an epiphany, or another experience that logic cannot diagram.

In short, it feels like you're setting a trap for them.

God senselessly murdered millions of humans and billions of animals in the flood
How do we know it was senseless? Because in Christian mythology, "God" is supposed to be "all-knowing." If God were to exist, God would know what was coming when he created Adam and Eve. Therefore, God knew he would be murdering millions of people. Why didn't God simply speed up Jesus' arrival to avoid the atrocity that is the flood? Or why didn't God program Adam and Eve when he created them to completely circumvent the need for such a horrendous atrocity?
The idea that Christians would accept a mass-murdering lunatic as their object of worship shows just how deep religious delusion runs. By (supposedly) murdering nearly every human on the planet, this imaginary God is far more heinous than Hitler. No "loving" and "perfect" being can also be a mass-murderer bent of global genocide. Yet Christians willfully worship him. There is no better indicator that religion is delusion and that God is imaginary

Those that call the question dumb, or criticize anyone for asking it, are very uncomfortable with any kind of view that brings doubt to them. They will call you names, but is a mere defense mechanism. Diety based religions are based upon faith. You put your total trust in an idea. Any challenge is seen as a threat. Absolutism leaves no room for change, or growth. To an Absolutist, evolution in any sense of the word is anathema to their world construct. What is is, always has been, and always will be. Time is an enemy to them. I know that this may seem like a lot of garbage to you, but it's true!

I think the bigger questions is why one set of scripture states the story one way and another set of scripture states the story another way

In this version Mary of Magdalene (which for all you Da Vinci Code fans . . . was the first person Jesus appeared to after he had risen, coincidence . . . I think not) didn't tell anyone about the rock rolling away or Jesus' body being gone until the next day.

Mark Chapter 16, Versus 1 - 14
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/mark/16/1-14#1

However in this scripture they tell people right away and Jesus himself appears to them later the same day that they saw him 'early at the sepulchre'.

Luke Chapter 24 Versus 1 - 53

Doesn't make sense to me and I will now post it as a question here on Yahoo! Answers.

I'm not sure what you are asking? Are you asking if it's possible to have the power to create something so heavy that by your own power you cannot move your own creation?

If it's possible to heat your own sustenance (food) to a temperature beyond your own ability to eat it?

If that is what you are asking.....then my answer is. No, not possible based on the names you have chosen to use in your question. I doubt that God or Jesus would bother to use their abilities as a way to entertain themselves or others.

One Among the Fence,
They are old. So very old. And they are not productive. Sometimes when people stand on the fence too long they begin to forget the importance of making a choice. But then, can you sit on the fence so long that you'll die there?

Your question is wrong and insulting and I should report you to the thought police for even expressing an thought that annoys me and is in the least bit incongruent from what I believe. I can't stand anyone who disagrees with me and I bet God does too.

People who do not share your views (or who believe in the private nature of religion) are offended perhaps because they feel like you are preaching to them. I think that your "innocent" suggestion that people are miffed by these sayings because they lack an answer illustrates the way you come across to people.
