It's fun... and mostly harmless. But when it all boils down, don't take anything you've been told from a Ouija board seriousely. I'm supposed to have died five times by now, moved to another country, and even be able to shoot fire balls out of a pentagram ring I own. None of that has come true within the timeframe given by whatever it was I was talking to. But if you insist on playing with the things, do be careful. It's a toy for the responsible. I have seen burns, fires, scratches, and even possession result from the use of a Ouija board as well as hearing about a miriad of other horrors.

Bad, bad...
I won't even allow one in my house. I don't want some doorway to the spirit world in my home... Only God knows what might come through it...
Though it is only made of wood and plastic, your spirit/soul-- or life force-- makes it possible for spirits (demons mostly) to come through. It works the same as Tarot Cards.
Throughout your life, there are always spirits around you. Some good (like Angels, etc.) and some bad. It is the bad ones you are usually dealing with when you play with Ouija boards and Tarot cards.
The bad spirits (demons) usually have limited power, though sometimes they can gather enough power to cause things like sickness, accidents, possession, etc... Sometimes you can see them- like the shadow you see out of the corner of your eye. Since they are around you your whole life, they know a lot about you and the people around you. When you die, your soul leaves this world (usually), but these spirits remain behind.
Lets say you die and your soul departs. Then someone tries to contact you through the Ouija board. The spirits that were around you while you were alive hear the summons and some of them will come (mostly the bad ones) to answer the person's questions. However, that person has now brought attention to themselves- and given these spirits more power (with their own life force). These spirits now have a doorway into that person's home... and life. Sometimes they do not leave- hence how a haunting can occur when there was not one before.
Though Christianity doesn't mention it, Islam does... and in Islam, these spirits (demons) have a name. They are called Qareen. They will impersonate the person you are trying to contact. They don't know everything about the person, hence why some of their answers are wrong and some of the answers are right. Sometimes, they will not leave after visiting you. Then you will start having problems in your home...
"Qareens (ÙرÙÙ, also spelled Kareen or Qarin) according to Islamic literature are evil spirits, analogous to a personal demon, intent on tricking people into acts of sin. Qareens are unique to each individual, and according to sorcery books, can be summoned by psychics after a person's death, such as in a seance, for the soul goes to God and the unruly qareen would remain on earth. The Qareen conforming to his malevolent nature will impersonate the deceased whose character he's familiar with. The Qareen should not be asked to be brought out or revealed, for they are dangerous."

ouija boards are extremely powerful divining tools. If you use one, prepare a protective circle and seek only positive answers. Take all the necessary precautions to ensure that you are protected from negative energy.
It would also be ill advised to use one on the night of a new moon when the Goddess is resting. This is the time when her powers are at their lowest.

Another pathway for the evil spirit realm to enter. Stay away from all forms of evil. Evil is just waiting for a crack in the door, they don't need a wide open door. I got a Ouija board when I was 13 for Christmas, I was so convicted not to use it, I threw it in the trash after one session with it, and I can't say I was a Christian then. The bible warns not to touch such things such as witchcraft, mediums, and sorcery.

The last time I used one I was 12 years old and some freaky stuff happened. I think it has a lot to do if all involved believe in things out there bigger than ourselves. I'll never use one again.

People WANT to believe they're talking to the dead, and like to think they have power beyond everyone else to reach out to the supernatural. It's just these people moving the damn thing with their hands.

Personally, its just one of many ways to speak to the dead. Problem is, I believe most of the time people end up speaking with demons rather than dearly departed ones. Either way, not really a good idea.

I've never used one, but I've talked to people who have. They were amazed at the answers they got. I think it has to do with the subconscious mind. I don't believe spirits or devils are involved.
