To pretend to be in love is worst because it's dishonest. "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" is a paraphrase of somebody, but true. You'll never know what love is unless you've been there. You can't value what you don't have and know, and without feeling the love, you can't really value another's, even for you.
