if you require daily medicine, you are exempt from fasting

The answers so far have been good.

I want to emphasize that you should ask a local imam about your case, and if he confirms that you don't have to fast, then remember that you are encouraged to make use of the option not to fast, since it is meant as a mercy. It does not mean you will receive less reward.

In some cases it might even be prohibited to fast if fasting would cause serious harm to your health.

If you are not fasting, you can still participate in the community events in your local Muslim community. Ramadan is a great time to draw closer to your fellow Muslims as it is a time for drawing closer to God.

Unfortunately some Muslims are quick to judge and they might not give you the benefit of the doubt if they see you are not fasting. You should not be discouraged by this, and I am confident that most will be very supportive, especially since you are a new member of the faith and community.

Being sick, you need not worry about your action; for you certainly belong to the category of those who are exempt from fasting, especially if you are suffering from a condition that requires taking of medications during the day. You only need to make up for the fasts you have missed at a later time when you completely recover. If, however, you do not hope to recover, then you only need to offer fidyah (expiatory compensation), which consists of feeding a poor person for each day of fast you have missed. In Canada, it has been estimated to be equivalent to a minimum of seven Canadian dollars. You can also give this money to the mosque to help the poor also.

first of all, know that whomever Allah guides there is nothing or no one that can misguide them, and whomever Allah leaves astray, there is for them no guidance. If you can take your meds, before fasting and be safe, than do so, but if not taking your meds will harm your health, then please take it.And to not fast due to illness is an act of worship just as much as fasting is.Please ask the people of knowledge in your local area Masjid.

yes it is acceptable -- if it is compulsorily fixed up somewhere between the dawn and dusk. so if u can take it with the Sahr then its good, but if it is strictly to be taken at specific times -- then it is allowed. Allah is All-Merciful and He understands.

also if u cannot fast due to health problems , then its ok for u to skip ur fast. it is -- Ramadhan -- fasting from dawn to dusk -- for those who can. it is an obligatory Fardh -- meaning compulsory for those who can but obligatory for weak, health problems, old people and pregnant/ lactating women.

if you have to take it twice a day, then there should be no problem. pop one at dawn and one at dusk.

it is three times, then add one before you sleep.

if it is more, then you are not in a position to fast. check with a cleric on this one.

best to check with your doctor.

No idolator will ever make it in the Kingdom of Heaven. Joining the moonies will never make you well. The Living God of Creation is not their god. Don't be fooled. You need to do some research. Find out what allah really is. Your eternity is at stake. All I can do is warn you. It's up to you. God=Heaven. allah=hell with the devil and his angels. Choose wisely.
