Can you be gay and christian? Is it just what you do that matters or does it matter how you feel and what you are? Will gays go to hell unless they become straight in their actions and thoughts? What if you're gay/lesbian and you wanna be christian but you can't help looking at other guys/girls?

There is no such thing as sin... so homosexuality is not a sin... it's quite natural and can be observed being practiced by other species of mammals in nature. You cannot be a real Christian and be gay at the same time because the Christian Bible explicitly prohibits the practice in both the Old and New Testaments. There is no hell either, so don't worry yourself about going there. If you are gay and want to be a Christian... I would have to ask why? Why would you want to be a part of something that is completely intolerant of you. It would be like a black man wanting to be a card carrying member of a white supremacy organization. It's illogical.

It is a sin. The Bible says so in several places.
There is no biological (or theological) reason for a man to stick his phallus in another man's anus. But I can think of all the disease that have come from it. Pick up any gay magazine or newspaper and see all the advertisements for AIDS medication. Appearenly the pharmeceutical companies have found their demographic, even if the PC thing to say is that "AIDS is not a gay diseas."
Further, it is socially unstable. The family is the core economic and social unit of a society. If gay people were more numerous than their current 2% of the population, it might cause real problems.
I grew up with a family, two boys and two girls, who's father ran off to explore his homosexuality. This wrecked the family. They all changed their names to distance themselves from him. This year the father died of aids. Yesterday, the son killed himself.

A human is an evolved animal, it is the price we pay! It is the cost of development of neocerebrum that we do experiment in our basic needs. Religion according to me, should not get involved in very personal pleasure matters.Otherwise almost 100% population has commited Sin , by masturbating at least once in life.Homosexuality still involves at least 2 persons, if really they all are enjoying without any pressure,in a closed room of course, I wont call it a Sin, but somebody is pressurised it is not only a Sin, but a CRIME as well! Every religion believes in Puritinism, If one determines to follow the puritinism, He /She will meet the God within 15 days Because you can not eat anything !

There are many gay Christians around. They even have their own church. Since I am not a Christian, and do not believe in any hell except the one you can create for yourself, nope, they won't go to hell unless they make their own.
There is no sin in being homosexual. It is a natural occurrence in the world from fruit flies to seagulls to wolves. The bible is metaphors for teaching, and anyone who takes it as literal has not studied sufficiently or has bought into the brain washing.

Even if the bible, quran and scientific proof of genetics (via the chromosomes) were shown to the entire gay and lesbian population, they still would reject it and continue with a lifestyle which totally defies the laws of science, nature and God.
So, the answer here is....if genetics and the holy teachings (both Xtian and Muslim) indicate it's not the natural thing to be or to do, then it's a sin and a contradiction.
Now, to all the gays and lesbians here, keep doing what think is "justifiable" in your eyes. Just remember, majority of the people in this planet are very very straight and we will never accept your lifestyle as normal.

If you believe that homosexuality is a sin, and a "more evil" one as most people believe, then you have to say that wearing two different fabrics is the same level as sin as being gay, as it is a show of pride. It's a difficult question for people who can't think ciritically.

No it is not a sin. Being homosexual doesnt mean that you cannot be christian. It is the closed minded people in our society that like to think so. Be yourself, and live by God's word, who you choose as a mate is nobody's business, as long as you are not imposing your sexual preference on someone else.

Why would any feeling, thinking person want to be xtian? I cannot for the life of me figure it out. There are better ways to live and love. Xtianity is a neat little convenient package for those with no courage.
