I know this is in the wrong category but I am aiming towards space and since some of you live in homes and have kids with a lot of stuff that's why I am asking here.
Is a 900 square foot home big enough for a 2 adults and 2 kids age 2 and 10 and 1 dog and 1 cat to live in comfortably. I know that a 758 square foot apartment is to small I know the difference in size but kids have a lot of crap to deal with.

Our home is 1150 sq ft and we're plenty comfortable. It'd be nice to have more storage space, but we can deal. We have an 11 year old and one on the way, plus 3 dogs and a gecko. If you have three bedrooms you should be fine. Kids have too much STUFF these days anyway. My son has less STUFF than a lot of his friends do, but he's perfectly happy. He has GOOD stuff and less JUNK. I think the hardest time will be the first year or two or three with the new baby and all the STUFF they need. High chair,
swing, exersaucer, etc etc etc etc etc. Once we get past all of that, this house will be just fine again.
How much space is enough for a family to be comfortable depends on the family and what they are willing to do with or without. When my husband and I bought this house the first thing he said was, "Love grows in small spaces!" And I have to agree with him. I grew up in a 7000 sq ft house and in the most UNloving family. We never had to see each other! His family had a smaller home and they are much closer. I'd rather spend the holidays with his family than my own.
But I digress. I'm good at that. LOL You have to make do with what you have. Not all of us can afford that 1900 sq ft house, and plenty of families live in those 758 sq ft apartments and do fine. We lived in a 600sq ft apartment before we bought this house. There was one child and 2 big dogs then. If you have a choice between a 900 sq ft house and a 1200 sq ft apartment, go with the house. Your kids will have a yard to play in and that makes a HUGE difference!

#1 The kids only have as much stuff as you give them.
The question is really what do they have to do outside of the 900 sq ft. If it is not much, then it is way too small. If they have acres to roam, then it is plenty.
Most of the settlers lived in houses that were tiny (600 sq ft.) but because they had a place to roam it was wonderful. So consider that really carefully when you make your decision.
As a note I have built everything from McMansions to bungalos. The way you decorate and keep the house is what really matters.
If you live in a small house you have to simplify and keep minimal possessions. It really is freeing. I was often most happy in a 150 sq ft place with a bed roll and desk.

it may be bigger than you have now, but both of your kids are getting bigger. That is the size of my family right now, only my younger one is 1 instead of 2 yrs. We have about 1300 sq ft. and that may be enough. Just make sure you have storage room as well, like a garage with that. Another thing you need to consider is, is your family going to get any bigger? are you having any more children? If you can't get much bigger, try and cut down on what you have, is there any extras that you really don't need? good luck!

My house is 1100 sq ft. Our family is 2 adults and 3 kids. No pets. Our house is too small. Go bigger if possible.

To live in, yes. To live comfortably in...no way. Add 1,000 square feet (total of 1,900 Sq. Ft.) and you will begin to approach "comfortable".

I don't see why not. If your buying it then it's the better deal by far.
You could always add on or make a den out of the garage!
