On judgement day the dead in Christ will rise, meaning the bodies will rise up out of the graves, but what if the body was cremated and the ashes scatered? There is no Body to rise up on judgement day.

OK< non-Christians, non-believers don't bother I don't even care what you have to say, I am a Christian and I believe.

Your question is answered in 1 Corinthians 15:35-58. On that day, the dead in Christ will rise in our resurrection bodies (glorified bodies). Not our current perishable bodies that are made from dust. The most telling verses are verses 42 and 43. "So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown (our current bodies that will die) is perishable, it is raised IMPERISHABLE; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a SPIRITUAL body.

It doesn't matter whether we're creamated or not. God is omnipotent.

I hope this helps.

The scriptures say that flesh shall not enter the kingdom of God... so the body does not matter. Whether cremated or buried. The dead in Christ shall rise... does not say that the bodies of those dead in Christ shall rise.
If cremation is not accepted then what about those Christians that was tortured and burned? What about those that died in fires? What about the poverty strickened.... who could not afford to buy plots? Is God the God of those that have money?.... of course not. It is the Soul of the person that will face judgment..... Let me share a little mystery with you. All those that are true worshipers of Christ will not be judged because of the free Grace that is given to them by God...Eph. 2:8-9. It is only those that did not truly worship Christ that will be judged and those that did not worship God at all.
Did you know that King David cremated King Saul and his son's that were killed in a battle... after King David went and wiped out those that killed King Saul?
I was one that did not believe in cremation but now truly believe that with God.... it is the spirit of Man that is important or else he would have made it possible for our bodies to enter heaven.

God Bless

Those bodies in graves will be in the same condition as those cremated, depending on how long they have been dead. Remember ashes to ashes, dust to dust? There is nothing saying how a person must attain that condition. And bodies wont rise but souls will depending on your religion.

Look at it this way... If the dead shall rise, their bodies will Have to be restored, not just risen and not flesh as we know it.
For goodness sakes, when a body is embalmed all the organs are removed and it does not actually preserve the remaining tissue for all that long either... "Earth to earth and dust to dust..." and all that, you know.

Think about what you are assuming... and consider the ability to make this happen... Why would cremation hinder that or be any kind of problem to One capable of this act in the first place?

The Lord gave you a remarkable tool... your ability to think and grow in wisdom and understanding. The Bible is not only a first reader, it holds layers within layers of teaching that only become fully comprehensible with experience, thought and the maturing ability to see beyond the inadequate words of mankind. Look beyond the written and spoken words into the meanings within them... You will have the real answer to your question then.

Then have faith that God has it undercontrol.... think about all those who have ended their mortal time... the ones buried befor "modern" burial practices are long gone... bone and all... not even a trace of the graves...dust, exactly like those cremated... it dose not take long in most climates for a body to totaly disapear... when they tried to dig up billy the kid a few years ago they found nothing left. my own family had a family cemetary up till the 50's... when it was moved a few years ago only a few bones were found... most graves of those buried in only wooden coffens were compleatly gone...It is not the body that will rise...motal flesh can not enter heaven anyway

God will wake the souls... Trust in Him

The correct answer is that if God created us and our physical bodies, would He not have the power to create your body again if it was cremated? Everything is possible with God, this is a basic fundamental belief. You might as well ask about people who have been dead so long their bodies decomposed to dust, is this not the same principle?

"OK< non-Christians, non-believers don't bother I don't even care what you have to say, I am a Christian and I believe."

So anyone with different beliefs must not be able to form an educated opinion? Some non Christians have studied the bible and the history of Christianity extensively. Just because you are a Christian and you do believe shouldn't rule out you listening to and respecting what others of differing beliefs have to say.
Why limit knowledge?

what do you think happens to bodies after they are buried? they sure don't stay whole and intact. I do not believe that it matters if you are cremated or not, how can you believe that Christ created the earth and the heavens, but that he cannot recreate your body? I do not think your physical body is what he was talking about, I think it was more in reference to your soul, and I do believe that your body will be re created whole and perfect.

The bible says that the dead will rise, not dead bodies will rise. I believe it means that the spirits of the dead will rise, therefor it doesn't matter if you are cremated. Plus, we are talking about God, if he wanted our dead body to rise don't you think it will. It doesn't matter if it was burned, buried, or missing. That body will rise if God wants it to.
