Alway's call your vet before you give your dog any drug you've never given before. He knows the dog's medical history. I have rescued dog's for most of my life and never, never given one anything until I talk to the vet, not at all safe. I have a number of personal dog's and have to keep generic benadryl on hand. Ask your vet about long acting allergy shot's. I have two babies that get them. I feel like that's safer and last's longer than the effect's of a pill every day. Good luck.

My 20 lbs. pup was stung by a bee yesterday. I gave her 1/2 a children's Benadryl tab. Swelling is gone and she's fine now.
This is my vet's advice.

please call your vet - an overdose will be fatal - good luck - your dog may not be large enough to handle benadryll and the vet may be able to prescribe or suggest something else that would be appropriate
