Be sure to wash your bed sheets from time to time. By the time you replace your mattress, it will be TWICE it's weight when compared to when you bought it. Why does it weigh twice as much? Because of all the dead mites in it that accumulated over the years. They need moisture (from your sweat), food (from your dead skin that fell off), and a dark place (inside your mattress). They actually sell waterproof bed liners that hold the sweat in an absorbent layer, which prevents it from seeping down into the mattress.

Look on the bright side; you'll never sleep alone again:

No, I'm not afraid...and neither are you. You may be creeped out by them but your not afraid because they are on your body right now and you are still out living your life! There is nothing you can do to prevent mites, everybody has them whether you shower once a day or once a month.

No, they are there already. It's normal. Are you afraid of bacteria in your intestines? You already have some there (e. coli) and it's enabling you to digest your food. Little living things are all a part of the game plan. Not only are they unavoidable, they are often necessary for us to survive.

Avoid contact with pets. Please also use shampoo frequently. Then there is no need to fear about mites. Still there is mites in your body, consult a Dermatologist.

Not afraid.

Just shower regularly, change your bed sheets on a regular basis, and realize that there are all sorts of things in the air and on your body.

Our bodies have more bacteria than human cells. Maybe the mites might clean up the place.

Even if you do freak out, there is nothing you can do about it.
As long as you keep your body, clothing & bedding clean, you have nothing to worry about.
Good Luck.
