Personaly I do not think so at all but some people beleive it is the gate way to all drugs which is crap. If a person does pot by its self it only becomes addictive if they want it to be that way. I think the one reason people go from pot to other drugs is thyey tell their self well I have been fine so far so why not and they make the desion to try something else pot did not make them do it. I will admit I smoked it long time ag for a long time and nothing bad ever came of it. I did not spend diaper money or food money on it I got it when I had extra money and everything else was taken care of like someone going and getting a beer. I never let my self do something stupid on it like drive. They tell people to drink responsiblty well i smoked responsibly and I never ever freak out or what ever when I did not have any. And I think I smoked it long enough to get addicted if it was possible. If it happens I beleive the person lets it and wants it more and makes excuses that they have to have it. I think it is crap

iIt all depends on the person. Do they have an addictive personality? Is there a history of addiction in the family? I personally smoked marijuana while I was a teenager and when I grew up and decided it was time to stop, I did. I do know people, however, that are hopelessly addicted to the drug and have lost good payng jobs because of it. Every drug affects people differently. They only way to know for yourself is to try it. You have been doing fine without it so far, so I don't think you really have a need to try it.

Marijuana (also known as pot, bud, 420, chronic, mary jane, grass), like other people posted, it's not physically addicting (most likely: probably not). However, it is physologically addictive; the person who uses marijuana will be emotionally dependent.
(And the short term effects for marijuana is anxiety, panic, excitement, and sleepiness. While the long term effects are difficulty with concentration, memory, and respiratory disease and lung cancer.)

I've seen it have a huge addictive effect on someone. I know there was a psychological component to the addiction - not sure about the physical though.

For sure! People say it's not but those people have never smoked so don't mind them. It is a drug and can be abused or I'd say your lungs are abused. Anyway, after smoking for years it's very hard to stop! You might not be addicted to the plant itself but you really do get addicted to the feeling/happiness it brings you.

Hahaa Are you kidding me?? No way... not at all, its a way to make you feel kinda good but when the next day comes along you don't feel "ahhhhh I need a joint" Or "ill die if i dont smoke marijuana" People that smoke cigs. Have cravings for them mentally and physically, when with marijuana you don't get either.

Not physically, but psycologically yes. People who smoke weed get addicted to the buzz, but no actual physical withdraw symtoms

No. I am a former daily smoker and quitting was no problem at all. There were no withdrawal symptoms or unsettling side effects. Maybe there is a psycological after-effect as suggested by others here but it is minimal.

no- not chemically.
I know many cancer and aids folks that use the capsule form to health with stomach problems.
I think if the USA made it legal and added it to the mix of prescriptions drugs, the world would be so much better.
