I just don't get sleepy, amd when trying, I toss, and turn, and get out of bed. I just became a teen if that helps.

Please, if anyone can tell me what this is.

I Always choose my own best answer.

Thanks!

Exert yourself physically and adequately during day time which should make you dead tired, if not doing already. If you have a morning walk of minimum of 5 kms and exertion otherwise during the day is good, then come to food habits. Night dinner be a little heavy for until you start getting sleep. Then slowly reduce input during dinner once you have gained your night sleep well.

It sounds like your sleep schedule is messed up. There are several biological cues that help your body know that it is night time.

1. It is dark. Make sure that you don't leave on background lighting.
2. It is cooler. Try to keep as cool as possible. Sleep only under sheets.

Other than those basics, you need to look at your stress level. When it goes up it increases your bodies production of chemicals in brain that decrease the serotonin reception in your brain. That cues your body to sleep and rest properly. If you can't reduce your stress level, consider taking serotonin about an hour before bed. It will cue your mind to think it is night.

If none of these work. Then it is time to reset your sleep schedule with prescription drugs. Ambien is probably the best. It will make you sleep 8 hours straight with no drug after effects. I usually only have to take one to reset my schedule for a month or so until I let my stress level go to high.

Hope this helps.

In addition to sleeping in a room that is dark, and has a cool temperature of around 60 degrees farenheit, write whatever's on your mind in a journal. In addition, turn of the TV 2 hours before sleep as it'll keep you awake from the light that comes from it. Read a nice book. As others mentioned, no caffeine after 6pm. Also, exercise during the day. If problems continue, talk to your doctor.

I actually find that if I don't watch tv or play on the computer atleast an hour before bed, then I fall asleep easier. There must be something in the type of lights they give off that it takes a while for my body to relax.

I find that many times when I can't sleep it is because I am worried about things. Instead of counting sheep, I visualize an eraser or squeegie and take it and clean my mind off leaving a blank slate or black screen in my mind. If the worries come back I do it again. It works for me.

Good luck. I am 34 and cant sleep. I went to the doctor when I was 22 and told him I wanted something to help me sleep. He gave me an over the counter strength prescription and told me I was too young to have sleeping disorders.
Needless to say I never went back to him except when I got a dog bite couple of years back.

I put the TV on & set the sleep timer. I have a hard time falling asleep. If i watch tv for a bit, I don't think about trying to get to sleep.

Be sure to relax, think of things that are very positive, I always pray and that is a great relief, then if I cannot sleep I shop in my mind with my eyes shut, pretending I have all the money I need to buy for everyone and the next thing I know it is morning!!!!!!!!! try it,

Music helps, but only if you let your mind follow the notes. Pick classical music or Gregorian chants. Having said that, I'm going to turn on my chants and head to bed.

Night, all!

i used to have frequent bouts with insomnia when i was younger. even though I was tired, went i went to bed I could not stop my mind from racing and like you, would toss and turn and eventually give up and go do something. I went to a stress management program, even though it was'nt exactly strees, it helped me by teaching me how to relax and clear my head. reading also helped.
