No, I have never had a fried peanut butter sandwich.
Not to alarm you, but the late Elvis Presley loved to eat fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. He would have them fried with butter over a medium heat.

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
i love fried peanut butter and jelly, or as we call them "peanellys"

do the regular peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then on one side spread soft margarine or butter, or even the butter spray, place it in the hot pan (medium heat) butter the top side, check bottom for desired browness, then flip and grill the same.
its best to cut it on the diagonal, and enojy it with a tall glass of either regular or chocolate milk. i always have to make 2, because the first one tastes like another one, every time i make them. actually, i think im gonna have one or two right now..thanks for helping me decide what to have for lunch.

Grill it like you would a grilled cheese-buttering the outside of the slices of bread instead of melting butter in the pan. Don't use too much peanut butter or it'll melt and run. Don't grill on a high setting or it'll scorch.

yeah - they are really good. I make the one like Elvis liked.

Mix about two tablespoons of chunky peanut butter with about a tablespoon of honey - spread on your bread. Then slice a banana thinly and place on top of the peanut butter. Close your sandwich and butter your bread and fry it in a pan. Then I take it one step further after you take it out of the pan all crispy - I sprinkle confectioner's sugar on top of it. YUMMMY!!!!
