As everyone is suggesting, alcohol, and possibly baking soda. No rubber eraser, as this will leave 'shavings'(?) all over, which may not short, but could possible be flammable.

Personally, I would pull out the affected contacts, and solder new ones. Try radio shack, or thift stores for parts.

Depends on how much corrosion there is and if it corroded the board or through any of the printed circuits. One thing you can clean it with is some 100% isopropyl alcohol and finish and inhibit the corrosion with a product called DeoxIT and DeoxIT Gold. You should be able to find this at RadioShack or a Fry's Electronics.
You could also check the Forum at www.caig.com where can also purchase the above products. If you ask this question at Caig Forums the techs there will be able to maybe suggest some other of their products or a different solution to your problem.

FYI: Keep vinegar away from electronics! It's an acid and you don't want that in your PDA.

Good old fashioned rubbing alcohol and maybe, if "green stuff" is real bad, mix some baking soda in some alcohol and use a small brush to scrub it and then just some more alc. to wash it all out. Let it air dry over night and then should be ok.

A pencil with an eraser attached is useful for inaccessable places.
