I believe God can bless us financially and materially, yes. Jesus said to the people, "who of you, if your son asks for a fish, would give him a stone?" He was speaking about the Father supplying our needs.

After all, God rewarded Job's faithfulness with double blessings. He also blessed Solomon, because Solomon asked for wisdom, not "things".

I certainly believe that God can and does bless with wealth, but I DO NOT ascribe to the prosperity doctrine. I am a recovering proponent of that doctrine. I don't believe it at all any more. I find it to be contrary to scripture and based on just a few things taken out of the greater context. Being poor is not a sign of your spiritual worth, and being rich does not mean that God likes you more.

i believe it is a blessing from God to acquire a saved soul rather than riches or gold. those are added on for our enjoyment on this earth. being heirs to his throne and he being the father we are though his children, being as our children would ask for an xbox, or computer game, or whatever they ask for we ask our father. but he says to seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all these things shall be added. the desires of our heart. seeking his kingdom and that within is his way doing his will, being obedient. maybe a lil too much for the question, but a many have asked that same thing and this is my personal feeling on that. if we were to gain the riches it wouldn't be for ourselves it would be for us to bless someone else. so we are blessed to be a blessing.

Not quite. I think it is a blessing from God if he grants you the intellectual capability to work hard for the money to afford material things or riches.

Not in the way that if you aren't monitarily wealthy God dosen't like you. Everything that is acquireable is from God. He wants us to be respectable stewards of all things. You can earn alot of money by working hard, but if you are here to work, you'd better thank God for the opportunity!

I don't actually believe he blesses us with riches or material things, but when we do receive blessings, we should use them wisely and not forget "how" we got them.

No it isn't:

1 Timothy 6:9-11 (King James Version)

9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
