Toyotas all the way! We have 3 4Runners, an '86, '96, and just bought an '06 2 weeks ago. We also had at one time a '70 FJ40 Land Cruiser....hate that we sold it. I just traded my '02 Tahoe for the '06 4Runner, and now that we have all Toyotas, I don't think I will ever purchase anything other than a Toyota. (The only reason I had the Tahoe was because at the time I couldn't afford a Land Cruiser, and we wanted the roomier vehicle.) I recommend Toyotas to anyone I know in the market for a new vehicle! I've never owned a Honda tho, so not sure about those.

Oh my gosh. In terms of reliability, they're equal. All of their cars are tops in their segments.

Honda has always been sportier than Toyota in every segment that it has a vehicle in. Toyota has always been softer/more refined. If you like the soft feel of luxery, go for a Toyota (its less noticeable in anything below a Camry) If you like the sound of a good engine or like to drive enthusiatically, get a Honda.

There is hardley any difference in new car reliability these days.

All those Honda and Toyota owners probably wouldn't admit they had a lemon.

I have had all diferent brands or cars and other than Dodge or older GMs/Fords there is no difference!

They are both great cars. You can't go wrong with either one. People who insist one is better than the other are just splitting hairs.
I actually prefer Nissan's. They are just as good as well, and better looking in my humble opinion.
I'd pick a Nissan Maxima over a Camry or Accord.
I drive a Nissan Quest van (2006 model) and the thing is awesome. Best vehicle I have ever owned. I was going to buy a BMW X5 and I like the Nissan better.

I've owned both. They are both VERY reliable cars.
Personally I preferred the Toyotas. They just seemed to last longer. I put 350K on a '86 corolla.

too bad you didn't mention where you lived. anyway, both are reliable, but the spare parts for toyota is much cheaper than honda. in addition, honda's technology (Vtec) gives you more mileage compare to toyota's VVTi.
