Homecoming is coming up, and I'm thinking about asking this girl I really like. My friend says I should ask her soon, before someone else does, but when it comes to that sort of thing, I always wimp out and I really don't want to hand her a note or send an e-mail, that would be really lame. What's a good way that I can ask her without freaking out at the same time?

P.S. please don't tell me to grow some balls or suck it up, that doesn't help.

Next time you see her make it casual. Has anyone asked you yet? She says no then just say "wanna go?" If she says yes then tell her your trying to decide if you want to go or not.

AND IF YOU DO THAT......That is growing some and sucking it up.

hmmmmm....since you took my first 2 responses I will have to put some thought into this..hehe I'm just teasing you. First...let me tell you something. I want a guy to approach me...I dont approach them. Denial is to be expected and just go w/the flow. Doesnt matter...for every yes you'll get 10 no's. Try sending some flowers to here w/a note attached asking her to the prom. Or sending a pizza to her while she has friends over and having the delivery guy put a note on the receipt. Be creative so she may not be able to say NO. Good luck and hurry up..time is running out. Oh..I loved craig c's idea...very creative.

Natural reaction to the one we like a lot. It is the fear of rejection that causes you to wimp out. Just realize that we all get rejected from time to time concerning many things. You can't win them all so why not just ask and find out. That way if you are rejected then you can move on to something else to confuse the mind. As they say id you do not ask then you don't get. There must be more than one that you like so if you ask then either you have a date or you can concentrate on another.

how to get the date
1. purchase a dozen or so roses
2. find her street address (wont be too hard, look around)
3. drop off the roses and a sweet note at her doorstep
4. ring doorbell, run away and dont look back
5. see what happens after this, she most likely will say something

Next time your talking to her just say, "Hey, have you got someone to go to homecoming with?" she says "No", you say "Me neither, do you want to go together?" She says "Oh I'd love to". Happy ending. Honestly this is how it goes. She's already decided who she's going to say yes to and who she's going to say no to. It doesn't matter what you say, she's already made up her mind. The sooner you ask, the sooner you'll know too. If someone else gets in quicker, she might say yes cos she thinks your not going to ask! You snooze you lose!

greetings...may i first say that it takes allot of courage to come out here like this and seek advice in an open forum. do you know this girl? if not then simply approach her when her friends aren't around and introduce yourself, followed by would you like to go to the dance with me. if she Say's yes, then follow that up with here's my phone number. please call me so i will know what time to pick you up...or what time to meet you somewhere etc..
if she Say's anything but yes, then give her until the rest of the day to change or make up her mind. if you know her(meaning she knows your name and you her's), then simply ask her in passing, if she has a date for the dance. if not then say would you like to go with me. your friends are right about not waiting to long to ask her. the longer you wait the harder it will be. take a deep breath, and make it happen.good luck

Most girls like it when guys ask them in really cute ways. My friend go asked to homecoming in a card trick.

You could also just bring it up casually, like ask if she's going, and then ask if she would like to go with you.

But, a lot of guys buy flowers and just ask.

Just ask her if she would like to be your date for Homecoming. Unless she is a real ***** (and then you wouldn't want to take her out anyway), she probably won't do anything to embarrass you. Do you have any signals she likes you back. If so, she is probably nervously waiting for you to ask her. Girls aren't as mean as they appear. We know it's difficult to ask us out. Unless you drool or something, just ask her. Then you'll know one way or the other.

walk up, say hi, can I talk to you for a minute...she'll say yes, then say, would you like to go to the dance. I believe your angst is probably a fear of rejection. You have to be willing to accept rejection, but you'll never know until you ask. If she's a hottie, take the plunge!

Best way to ask is be yourself and ask...All a person can say is yes or no...And I am willing to say it will not be the 1st time you have ever heard these 2 tiny words,,,,Good Luck I hope it works for you and you can take her to this..
