And they killed somebody in cold blood,
Would you turn them in,
or
help them out? (keep your mouth shut, dispose of the body, etc.)

well, hard to imagine as they never would, but I think I might be quiet for these reasons.

1. wouldn't want them to go to jail and be raped and stuff

2. would have to talk to them to find out and search out what circumstances were...

3. I might be afraid, they'd kill me if I did

It is so hard to figure what you would do..I might try to talk them into turning themselves in if circumstances warrented it, but I likely wouldn't turn them in myself..I'm their mother after all.

I would feel I had failed (unless it was self defense or something).

EDIT...I must say I am shocked that only myself and 2 others so far would not turn their child in...

It might be different if prison was just a loss of freedom with at least adequate medical care and food and protection coming from the guards and safety from other inmates rather than sometimes being beaten to death, raped, harassed, or left to die when sick.

I could not let my child go there to live the rest of their relatively young lives in prison..I would likely not believe it as I feel I know them well unless they flat out swore they did it.

I think I would try to get them out of the country to be frank and I would grieve so much the loss of life they took and the ruining of their lives and my separation from them. Everyone's lives would be ruined and I'd think about it and the victim's family and worry and pray and cry about the whole thing till my dying day.

If by cold blood you imply clear unjustified killing...then yes, but it would be the hardest thing I ever did. What's important to remember is that there was a victim, and I don't believe in forgetting the victim, for anybody.

If it were a crime of passion I'd be paralyzed by the question.

If it were under justified circumstances (not going to go there
in details...not sure if there is a reason) then I'd help get my child away, to not be unfairly prosecuted...since prosecution is often just a veiled form of revenge.

Well, I have 3 kids. A high schooler, one in middle school and an 19month old. They already do things they shouldn't and try to hide them...it is natural. However, they learn that there is no such thing as a secret and that every action has a consequence. I let that consequence happen. I turn my head so they won't see that it hurts me too. I hold them. Tell them I love them. Help them to see that they could have made a better choice and show them how to make good choices in the future. My children are wonderful. I adore them. I would die for them. I would turn them in. The only thing I would not do for my children...is to compromise my principles and morals for them, for those are the only things we really can give our children.

I would have to find help for my child. they would not have done something so terrible unless they were in need of help. I wouldn't dispose of the body. I would talk to them about turning them selves in. Being a parent doesn't mean you parent only when your kids are perfect. You are there through everything.

I have a kid. If she killed someone in cold blood I would turn her in, but I could never stop loving her.

I love my children dearly, but if they killed somebody, or committed any crime I would have to turn them in. It would break my heart, but if I just help them escape the wrong that they done, it is like giving permission for them to carry on and do it some more. They must be punished.

I do have kids. No, I would not turn them in to the authorities, but would instead insist they seek psychiatric treatment.

I don't know if I would help dispose of the body or not. I would not be in a rational state of mind, and would be acting on emotion.

I would probably turn them in, but I would raise my kids to be intelligent enough to not even think about doing such a thing. If they ever did that, I would feel like I really am the one to blame.

As much as I would hate somebody to do this to me, I would probably help them. Unless they were likely to kill again -- then I think I would have to turn them in...

Turn them in... more specifically, I would talk my child into turning him or herself in because that's the right thing to do. But I would mourn for my child and for the person who was killed.
