Nobody is trying to force prayer and religious views on people in GOVERNMENT schools.
However, people in the schools are being prevented from expressing religious views in our government schools today.

ok here is my opinion I think they should make a seperate class where u can learn about God and what He has made. Otherwise u shouldnt force a person of what to do but they force the kids to learn about evalution and other things which they think is supposedly man made or it was( " Just all put together"). I am a Christian and if I had kids and if they were to go to a public school i would pray that they would make another class to learn about what God has made (Science)so the people who wanted To learn about evalution could learn about evalution the people that would want to hear what God has made would be able to learn about Adam and Eve and where it all began. My point is , is that we r not forcing it we r renforcing it and i think that if we as Christians are forcing a Christian Based science at least, then wat r the Athiest & non-believers doing forcing the kids to learn about evalution. Y should U learn about evalution? Y not God?and yes I dont think they should tell us if we could pray or Not in school next thing u know we will not be able to read the Bible IN PUblic..... the schools arent any better wen they took out prayer and then or when they left it in but it helped us as Christians to ask God for help. It helped, Our Faith and it can help u too. And the reason why u may say it didnt help, it didnt help for most bcuz Peer Pressure and a bad Influence is mostly what is Happening in our society today.Drunk kids and pregnant girls is that what we want in our society for our Grand kids our children ,NO Ofcourse not we want to be able to change that I am not saying prayer will change the world not just yet, But it is a start.

Don't you wish it were really that simple? Your premises are faulty, so what does that do to your conclusions? You cannot reasonably equate all forms of "secularism" and all forms of religion. Specifically, the United States is the product (to whatever degree) of 150 years of Christian influence. The same 150 years of Islamic influence produces a horse of a different color.
And by the way, I am not in favor of "forced" prayer of any variety -- but that doesn't change the fact that historically the Bible provided the moral foundations upon which this country is founded.

Although I am not a Christian I would like to answer this. Prayer or practicing ones faith should be done where it will not offend others. If in school is where a person wants to practice then go to a church school. Why is it necessary to inflict ones beliefs on everyone else when it only brings conflict into others lives. We have gone back to the crusades, fighting any one that doesn't believe as we do. Christians are not trying to save anyone with their attitudes they are trying to concur them. They are not showing a Christ-like spirit, they are showing the ugliness of man-kind. Rather than being examples and good stewards of the faith they are being masters, trying to in slave the world. They don't care about my salvation, they only care about their own rhetoric.

Forcing prayer? NO
Having the right to pray in Jesus' name? YES!!!
Mahmoud Ahmadinelad is a terrorist who wants to destroy Israel...
He follows this.... one of Muhammad's teachings
"Fight and slay the pagans(Christians, Jews, and non-Muslims) wherever you find them, and seize them beleagur them, and lie in wait for them in every strategem."- Surah 9:5... THE QUR'AN
Christians follow this, one of Jesus' teachings...
"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you, and persecute you."-Matthew 5:44, the BIBLE
See the difference?!
Christianity and Radical Islam are polar opposites....
You seem to be so concerned with Christian people having the right to pray if they want... in school
BUt you also ignore the little public school in California... a whole class was deticated to Islam... they were forced to confess to Allah, and perform in a worship service.... No lies.... look it up for yourself....
YOu would think the ACLU would be all over that school....
Nope, not at all....
But a Christian is caught praying silently over his meal, or with a Bible in his bookbag in school, guess what happens?
He is sued and repremanded by the ACLU for not obeying school policy, and being politically incorrect.
the ACLU will jump down a Christians throat because anything pertaining to the Christian faith is politically incorrect and violates the so called "separation of church and state"...
But if the ACLU applauds other religions, saying that it is an open minded experience and our children should learn about them in public school.
I guess there is no room in this "open minded" society for Christian consevative rights and ideology.
God bless you and yours... glad I could inform you of the facts

You're right! It kills me that the christians go on and on that the atheists are evil because we want to take away their right to pray. What about our right to NOT be exposed to it? Let the kid say their own individual prayer before school or lunch if the ywant. But, don't make my kid sit through it. I feel the same way for the pledge of allegiance. I think it is important, and I love reciting it (I am in the military and love every day of it) but the line "under God" (added in 1956 or 54, I can't remember) drives me nuts.
I don't force christians to put "I worship a penis" on money, so why should I have their god forced upon me?

Jesus was 30 years old when he was baptised and though he had spoken very eloquently in the synagogues prior to this he was baptised when he had reached the age of reason.
Governments, institute what is to be taught in school curriculums, not Christians. Sorry you have the wrong group to bash.

Nobodies forcing anything, everyone should have the right one way or the other. being black or white, none or all. that's what makes you a Fascist. Our country was founded on religious values, they should be able to be in schools, and those that don't want to participate, then don't, no problem.

No not a nazi. Just a concerned person who believes our young people in public schools are in a state of hopelessness because for them there are no absolutes and without absolutes they disinegrate into hopelessness.
