Point well made. I've gone to Church maybe 1 year on Saturdays, in all my 40 years, and, I've also had some VERY SPECIAL blessings from the Lord! I think the Saturaday Church thing, personally, is like what Jesus said,"He hath no sin..."
I COULD be WRONG though in SPITE of all my experiences!

The word 'Sabbath' means 'day of rest', and comes from the Hebrew 'Shabbath'. According to this, God made all of creation in six days and then rested on the seventh. We must do both work and rest in each of their times. Days given to the Lord are blessed and it is good to dedicate every day to the Lord, but they are not all Sabbath days.
The word Church goes back to the Greek word 'ecclesia' and means 'God's people', and not necessarily the building that the people gather in, though the two became associated as God's people meet in special buildings. so yes, we are God's people, His Church.
The Bible says that our bodies are God's temples,, temples of the Holy Spirit. The temple is made of living stones, which goes back to the Church, also.

The Sabbath day is the seventh day. It's also true that Christians are the Lord's temple. The POINT of the Sabbath was to provide "REST" for God's people. Hebrews, chapter four, clearly teaches that a Christian enters into a perpetual "rest" in Christ. The "rest" is spiritual and is of a higher order than a single, physical day.

Every christian church that considers Jewish Tradition as null and void considers any day of your choice as your day for God to be your Sabbath Day. It sounds practical and understandable but who are we to make a decision when He told us to follow His commandments to the fullest "Do not add, do not change and do not omit anything in the law". And from the Exodus down to the last of His prophets Micah, He is so emphatic about observing His Sabbath Day and even said to bring back His Sabbath. It is up to you but I am to do what is in the law.

any day can be your birthday then?
Let's say you invite me over to a really special meal that you have prepared . You choose Saturday night at 7.30.
I don't call you at all during this time --- I decide to show up Monday morning around 6.30 on my way to work. -- My friends (the world) wanted me to spend time with them. We hung out and did some "fun" things.
If I get anything to eat, it wonn't be that special meal -- will it?
Now it has become the time I chose..... Not the time you set aside.
Yes I agree we get a blessing anytime we spend time with God, but do we get that special blessing that He has reserved for the Day HE chose to set aside?
I am also glad that God is not as vindictive as we would be. I know the above scenario may not be the best comparison, but it helps clarify iti in my mind when I bring it home in a personal way.

I agree, Our Sabbath rest is in Him. Every second of everyday is the Sabbath to a believer in Christ. The Sabbath doesn't have anything to do with a particular day, after He was resurrected, because Christ is Lord of the Sabbath.

No, Sabbath is the day set aside to do no work to relax and appreciate the world God created.
It is the 7th day of the week, not Sunday as this is the 1st day of the week. It is the 7th day and God commanded us to keep it holy. Meditate, give time to your family, visit the sick and the lonely. Do good deeds.

I totally agree. I learned a long time ago that I could pray and talk to God without being in a church.
