This may be the long way to go about it but this is how I did it.
You call DVI (Duel Vocational Institute) in Tracy, Ca. You can get their number through 411 info.
Their automated system can connect you to most California prisons.
Make your choice which will be either the women's facility in Chowchilla or INMATE LOCATOR.
You then give her name and number or if you don't know her booking number you can give them her birth date.
Then they will locate her for you and give you her info.
Good luck. I was just in Chowchilla yesterday, they've got that place in the middle of nowhere don't they?
Also, you can call "Friends Outside" which is everywhere. They are a non-profit org. that help inmates. They know all the ins and outs.

What type of information are you looking for? Are you in prison or working at a prison? Is it a prison or a county detention facility. If you are looking for an inmate who is in prison, I think that would be public record and you would just call information for that particular prison. Are you trying to find out visiting hours? Are you trying to find information about a lawyer?
More information would be great and you may get more response from your question.

Dude, I am laughing my butt off at the way you put that!
The language is CDCRese, and it IS a hassle to translate it into English.. I try to do that translation on a daily basis.
I'm afraid that Chowchilla is not one of the facilities with which I'm familiar enough to help, but if you go here http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=127 someone will have the answers you need.
Good luck

Not sure at all what you are talking about.
In America all of the guards and staff will communicate in English, some inmates may not speak english but you will have everthing from Russia to Japanise to Spanish to street slang.
Next as a staff member you are not going to find out inmate info other than what is on the imate identification card used in the cell blocks.

If you want to pick her up from the prison when she gets out you need to find out if they are sending her back to the county that she was originally picked up in and charged in. English and Spanish are the most widely used among jail clerks so try one of those. If you call the county jail where she was originally arrested they should be able to tell you the release date and if they are transporting her back to the county, which they usually do especially if they were taken out of state to serve time.

You speak english to the prison staff. They will search you for contraband and you will be assigned a waiting room until your g/f is released.
No one goes to state prison for a 2 week sentence anyway - I think you're referring to a local jail.
