Did you read the news today about that scientists detected a new planet in a distant solar system that's very gaseous? Right away scientists realized that this is something new and they need to reconsider their beliefs.

Christianity, on the other hand has put people to death for their scientific discoveries.

I don't think that example is particularly relevant. The problem with creationism is that it has no predictive power whatever. The whole purpose of science, of course, is to make predictions that people find useful. And evolution is good at that. I now have a proof that evolution is correct; anyone wishing details may contact me via avatar.

Wow! Where do you get your sources bud? How does the discovery of thos gaseous planet disprove creation?? And since when did we suppress scientific discoveries. Why should we? They all agree with Creation anyway. Science supports the Bible. I don't know where you've been, but why don't you open your mind to new ideas instead of being in your own little box where you are your own god.

For all the dense minded fundies, why does your petty god create planets but not tell you about them? Why is your goofy little book all based on this earth, and nothing to do with those planets? And how could we get to the moon, since when you go through the sky, you enter the pearly gates in the cloud city?

The only thing that a new scientific discovery proves is that God is even more powerful than we could ever imagine on our own...

And you know what? Christianity hasn't put people to death for their scientific discoveries, men who call themselves Christians do... but that is because humans made those decisions... not God. God would never put someone to death for discovering something He made for us...

wrong
christendom(apostate christianity) is giulty of so much more than putting people to death, it is responsible for untold bloodshed and bloodguilt by reason of false teachings traditions and doctine too.

True Christians have never killed a single person. They believe that when Jesus said " those that live by the sword, will die by the sword' meant that we should know that our eternal lives can not be cut short if another man kills us. Rather, we die forever as a result of disobedience.
So your comparison is flawed at best.
Also, as science is obviously resistant to change (proof you say?) what about the reckless practice of blood transfusions?
They are directly responsible for over 2000 deaths in the US each year, infect tens of thousands more with terminal illnesses(hiv, hepatitis-a,b,c,d,e,,f,h, ) and are virtually
unecessary as we have better methods of blood volume expanders and bloodless surgery(which by the wat is a result of those JW's who refuse blood).
So again your confusion abounds as 'science' has 'learned' from a religion a better practice as regards medicine.

Christianity is nothing more than following the God of love that set a perfect life example of peace and healing when in the world. Religion deals with the human sprit and the Divine. Perhaps you have the wrong forum.

It does seem pretty cool, science. The thing some people don't realize is, science is always changing. When new facts are discovered, those who believe in science think and reconsider that which they believe to discover greater truths, whereas those of religion will never revise their beliefs.

Science is facts without certainty. Religion is certainty without facts

Science has methods for finding and correcting error. Theology lacks such a process as it is all based on faith.

Evolution is a fact, and there is a theory to explain the fact. That puts it far ahead of creationism since creationism isn't a fact, and it lacks a theory.

"To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." [Cardinal Bellarmino 1615, during the trial of Galileo]

Science is governed by peer review. Religious stories are administered by a dubious hierarchy.

"If we are going to teach 'creation science' as an alternative to evolution, then we should also teach the stork theory as an alternative to biological reproduction."--Judith Hayes

"Science is open to criticism, which is the opposite of religion. Science begs you to prove it wrong--that's the whole concept--whereas religion condemns you if you try to prove it wrong. It tells you to accept it on faith and shut the hell up."--Jason Stock

"Creationists make it sound as though a 'theory' is something you dreamt up after being drunk all night."--Isaac Asimov

"The less you know, the more you believe."--Bono

I am sure that there are many planets that God created that our astronomers haven't yet found.
Can you name one person put to death by Christians (Not the Catholic church) for scientific discoveries?

True, science doesn't put people to death, but it does come up with ingenious methods of human annihilation.
