The first year i work I will pay 36% in tax, plus student loans, so more of my money goes to the government than myself???
Am I thinking about this correctly?

Get a financial advisor. You can put away some of the earnings into tax shelters and lower your taxable income.
That's how rich people stay rich.

Nope, that is correct. My parents made around 400,000 last year and gave about half to the government.
It's crazy!
