It could be an abscess from a cat fight that has gotten infected or it could be a sinus infection. I had a cat and his whole head swelled up huge and I thought he had gotten hit in the head or something and when I took him to the vet they told me it was a severe sinus infection and gave me some antibiotics for him and it fixed him right up. You probably should take your cat in to be evaluated by the vet and get him some antibiotics. Good luck. Sorry your cat is sick.

I'm not sure about the lump on the head, but the swollen face could be a sign of a tooth root abscess. Does he go outside or fight with other cats or animals? The areas could be associated with an abscessed bit wound. You should take him to a vet tomorrow.

The first three things that come to mind are:

An abcessed tooth

An abcess from a tooth or claw puncture (from fighting or rough play)

A wasp or bee sting

The first two require veterinary attention, but the last one only needs patience, and perhaps 1/4 of a childrens' grape Benadryl shoved down his throat. My cat got stung by a wasp, so I called my friend who is a vet, and she told me the appropriate Benadryl dose to give him. However, my cat Does Not Like pills and foams at the mouth after being forced to swallow them. There was purple grape Benadryl foam all down the hall...

It's probably an abcess from a bad tooth or it could be an insect bite. The question is, why haven't you taken your cat to the vet? If you were that way would you go to the doctor? And please don't say there's no money to take it because you can work out a payment plan with the vet.

What would you do if you had the same thing on your head?? Your cat is probably suffering some discomfort/pain already. Go to a vet immediately.

It's hard to say. The only things I can think of are...(1) an abscessed tooth or (2) a reaction to a bug bite or sting. You should probably bring him to your veterinarian to have him examined though. If it's an abscessed tooth than the vet will probably reccomend surgery to have it removed.

An infected tooth

An abcess from a cat bite

A tumor in his upper jaw

How do you expect us to know? Only a vet can give you an answer and treat it.

Could be any number of things; a tumor, a sinus infection, an infection in his mouth, swelling from an injury. He needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible.

I think you should use some common sense and take your cat to the VET

Vet instantly! It could be several different things.

My cat had something similar, it was a cyst, they drained it and she was fine. I hope your cat is ok too.
