As someone pointed out in respect to my question about Genesis, 2Pet 3:8 says that 1 day to god is like 1000 years to us.
Since Jesus was supposed to rise after 3 days, doesn't that mean that he'll be dead until oh.... the year 3030?
Or do fundies use the 1day=1000year conversion only when they want to (like when the Genesis myth is contradicted by scientific fact)?
Biblical consistency anyone?

this should be good.
popcorn anyone?
Later:
I warn you, Devl. I'm gonna borrow this question. It should be repeated often. 8-}
Later later: Get the impression some Christians are math-challenged? ;-)
Later later later: Did I just see a Christian trying to use -science- to argue a fourth-dimensional equation to get -fundies- out of this fix? Oh the irony!
a little later later later: I don't suppose there'd be a point in explaining to them the meaning of "omnipresence" and how that affects the experience of time (as in, the idea God experiences a "day" [no matter how it is defined] is an absurdity by definition).
No, probably be a waste of time ;-)
much later later later: "bangs head on desk"? There's an impressive counter-argument ;-)
And do we really need to explain to a Christian that II Peter isn't in the "OT"? I suppose that's what we should expect from someone who "bangs head on desk" a hundred times. ;-)
Thanks Devl. Got this one marked for further viewing. Off to bed now. Enjoy the popcorn :-)

First it is irrelevant whether you believe Jesus is God. and yes the bible does say "1 God Day = 1000 years to man", which brings into light about how long the creation was. But as for your question:
Jesus did raise the third earth day after he ascended to heaven. Now there are 2 possibilities of what happened. One, he just died and went to another "dimension" for three days, but still on earth (not likely). Or he visited heaven for about .071 seconds (not likely).
24*60*60=8640 seconds =1000 man years
8.6 seconds = 1 man year
.02356 seconds= 1 man day
.071= 3 man day
In the end time has no meaning after death, it's irrelevant. why should you worry about the next minute or day when you have an eternity. It's important note the Jesus rose after he was buried after the Jewish sabbath, that's why it was three days.
But the most important thing of all is that he is resurrected and not dead anymore, Death is conquered!

Jesus was/is God incarnate. This means that God took full possession of a human body. God is not limited by time/space. Note the many amazing things Jesus did after His resurrection: He appeared and disappeared at will, walked through walls, radiated an eye-blinding intensity of light while talking with former Patriarchs Moses and Elijah (presumably), and also made appearances (theopanies) outside the bounds of His allotted time on earth, such as His appearance to Abraham when He announced that Sarah would have a baby, his wrestling with Jacob, his appearance to Samuel's parents, and also His appearance as Melchizedek to Abraham.
Your reasoning is faulty. You need to study more.

God and man are in two different worlds, two different dimensions. God is in eternity while we are in linear time.
God looks at a day from night to day
while we go by daylight to night
Jesus was in confind to man's time and world. God is in infinitie He is not confind to our surroundings. Before Jesus died on Earth He was limited to be at one place at a time. After he died and rose again, Jesus was in God's world and he could be everywhere. God has infinite knowledge, while man has finite knowledge. We are limited to what God is not limited too. He is eternal!!!
God is not limited to time or space for their is no time or space in Heaven.

They again prove that the bible is open to interpretation. Interpretation depending on which illogical scripture they are trying to justify.
