eat hearty, healthy meals. Not food from McDonalds. You don't have to eat fatty, greasy foods to gain weight, there are plenty of healthy ways to gain weight...
eat some granola cereals/bars, trail mixes, fruits, yogurt shakes, and eggs...these are just a few of the really high calorie, but nutritious foods that you can eat to gain weight...
also, you should eat a lot of good carbs such as :starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn and peas, wheat bread, and grains
Drink healthy fruit juices, like orange juice, apple juice, and grape juice. Stay away from sweets, like choclates, candies and sodas...those aren't really good for you
Always eat a complete meal, and try to incorporate all four food groups in every meal! Good luck :)

>One of my closest friends has lost a couple of jobs because they thought she was anorexic. But I have seen her relatives and they are all extremely thin. Her problem besides having a healthy metabolism she taught ballet and jazz dance for 8 to 10 hours a day. Her new job has her sitting all day and she has gained about 8 pounds. A basketball friend had to eat half a gallon of ice cream/day and milkshakes daily with his lunches. Once again he was supper active.
>My biggest secret for gaining weight is homemade breads with alot of butter slammed on the warm bread to melt it. In our family we learn to bake homemade rolls and biscuits. By the time I was 12 years old I could make my own bread and homemade donuts better than most adults.
>But really have you talked this over with your doctor? You are 14 years old...if you are a male you won't bulk up until after high school. A high school classmates t-a-l-l- and lanky. At our 10th class reunion "OH! MY! GOSH!!!" he was all filled out not full of muscles or a beer belly but lean and very toned. Just eat several healthy meals during the day, drink milk as often as you can enjoy the fact that you can eat foods like ice cream, pies etc. and no worries.

I am sure you have some friends you could observe for just a small fraction of time so you can learn how to gain weight.
Maybe your body doesn't want to gain weight? I know my metabolism was very high while Iwas a teen, so I was way under weight all the time. Slowed down now.....

You gain weight when you consume more calories than energy you exert. For example you may eat 2000 calories per day but only exert 100. Your body stores the rest as fat.

Eat lots of red meat and weight train. I wouldn't be too worried about your weight. You probably just have a high metabolism. Things will change in a few years. You ought to be thankful for being skinny..lol

Eat more calories a day from healthy food. Include lots of proteins, like peanut butter, beans, and lean protein. Don't stop exercising. It is one of the best things you can do.
