so basically i need a fairly cheap digital camcorder that holds tons of video. and it doesnt need the extra features but they would be cool. please people help. my family is kind of on a budget right now but i want one of these for christmas because i like to take videos with my firends and eventually try and make a short film. i just need the camera to get started on that. just please anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest getting one used. It may allow you to get one with extra features and good quality. Try hitting up one of your relatives that would like to upgrade to a newer one and offer to buy their current model. I think I've upgraded every three years! Camcorders and digital cameras. All digital electronics can only hold so much and you just need to save money and purchase the tapes(with MiniDV).

else you can go for some clearance sales at your nearest retailer
please dont go for ebay or used ones, you cant make out if the product is defected or not. also for extra memory you can buy memory cards or DV tapes
