Everyone has cholesterol. It's necessary. I assume you mean high cholesterol.
Sugar does not contain fat. It is all carbohydrate. However, those who eat a lot of sugar and don't have a super-high caloric output will gain weight.
As far as frozen foods, Lean Cuisine and Weight Watchers both have really good frozen dinners. You can find lots of great recipes that are healthy that your whole family will eat! Probably the best thing to do. Learn what you can eat besides frozen dinners. You'll quickly realize that there's lots you can have.
Also, find out if you have family that also has high cholesterol. Sometimes it is more a hereditary thing than a food thing. You may need medication. Talk to your doctor about that.

"I found out I have colesterol"
So does every living human. Congrats, you passed the test.
Now, if you've got high cholesterol...?
Try losing weight. I lost 25 pounds and my doc took me off of the pills. That is the best answer for most people.
Try exercising. It burns off the fats in your blood (aka "cholesterol") and builds up your "good cholesterol".
Take the pills until you get the situation under control.
Finally, realize that heridity works against you here. You might be able to drop your scores by 30 points, but like other health factors, you're at the mercy of what God and your parents gave you.

I feel perfectly healthy as I write and I have to thank that Lady Doctor I once drove to N.Y.U. Medical Center.
She said you should use garlic in your diet.
Ever since, I eat a clove of garlic a day.
In addition, eliminate as much as possible table sugar.
Must start each day with a breakfast of quality cereal.
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
You must control cholesterol.
Try all of above, and write me back next month if you see a difference.
