I am a Viet Nam veteran - and believe me, all is not fair in love and war.
In an effort to keep ourselves above reproach and not lower ourselves to the terrorists' level, we are giving them far more respect and human rights than they deserve. And, in doing this, we are taking two steps backward for every step we take forward.
They have been killing innocent men, women and children in the name of their god for far too long.
After all, if a person isn't going to act human, does he still deserve human rights?
I, for one, say no, he does not.
If you shoot at an American soldier from a Mosque - you should lose it to a 500 lb. bomb - if you are found in a cemetary - it's only appropiate that we see that you stay there - forever.

Something called Honor. If you have to ask you wouldn't understand.
But to keep you from emailing me to insult or assert your position, I'll briefly explain.
I'm Air Force. And like my other service brothers and sisters, I'm a volunteer. A patriot. I believe in what I'm doing and know it's going to make a difference. It will take time. A tree doesn't become a tree overnight. It starts as a seed and becomes something great. After a SUSTAINED effort. Doesn't a child test his parents and become frustrated and stop after he finds that he can't win. So will these people.
It will take years, and more lives. Volunteers. And those who complain disgrace those who've died for the cause. This has to be done. If we simply stop or give up. They will bring this fight back to our soil.
So let me keep them busy in all the "stan's", Iraq and anywhere else that they spawn. As long as my kids can live without fear of falling buildings and suicide bombers here, you can ***** all you want.
The funeral thing is just Honor. Even in others wars. An honorary cease fire was observed to collect the fallen. As evil as these men are to us, they are still fathers, sons, brothers and friends. All it would have taken was a different choice earlier in life and they could've been something else entirely. Just a simple choice really. IT's the moral higher ground, we're better for doing it and it shows, at least to those who understand what it means to be a warrior, a father, a son, a patriot or a friend.
Hope this helps.

You think 2687 is a lot? How about you do some research and look at all of the deaths from past wars. All, in exception to Desert Storm, had way more KIA than our current war. Considering that there have been over 1.5 million Soldiers over there...roughly altogether. I think that 2687 isn't a bad number considering. That is only about 0.001%. Granted any Soldier that dies is a shame, but .001% isn't bad

Bradon P: your pilots have already killed 5 & injured another 39.Canadians in Afghanistan, Go bomb Mexico. Since we are allowed to see the repatriation ceremonies, your humour is not appreciated.
Sorry Brandon, I hope you didn't think my message was for you. I read yours after I posted and was very impressed by what you had to say. May God protect all who are over there in Iraq Or Afghanistan.

The frustrations are overwhelming. Today the IEAE found that our government lied regarding Iran's nuclear intentions (whats new).
I remember when I was a kid, I used to be proud of being an American (1950's.. truth, justice, the American way). Now that I'm older and seen what horrors our government is capable of, I am not sure if we're worth the powder to blow to hell.
What ever happened to our heros?
Here, in Bakersfield. We just opened a new airport. Did we name it after any of the young heroes who sacrificed their lives for this country???
Hell no, we named after William Thomas, another G.D. politician. It kind of looks like we're honoring the problem makers instead of the problem solvers.
Vote Democrat and restore some sanity to our country.

Its good we didnt bomb them. For the safety of the USA.
Lets play this scenario....
Lets say we were to have bombed them and it turned out some of the people are bad. It would cause a major uproar in the media if america would have killed innocent (if thats what you want to call them) people. Things could turn sour really really quick if we would have bombed them.
The only bombs we should drop should be atomic. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Do you give the hourly time along with some other stupidly obvious pointless question? Do something useful. Ask a question whose answer may contribute to the debate and using the death of brave people doing their job to puff up your ego is obscene.

I am surprised at how political correctness has become like a cancer that clouds the thinking of those vested with serving our best interests.
I would have fried their butts myself. When you have them in your sights, you do not dwell on it, you take the shot and live with the consequences..
