Do they not realize they are basing their beliefs on a science fiction writer? It is a sorry excuse for a cult,

yeah, they are kinda corny. UFO's and aliens and stuff.

Tom Cruise and John Travolta are followers. Makes you realize how bored you have to be to join such a cult. I guess people just want to be a part of something.

You know, I found the strangest thing online. Apparently, more scientologists make up Mensa than any other religious group (technically scientologists themselves don't consider Scientology a religion... blah blah). I guess when you reach a certain level of intelligence, you can convince yourself that anything is true. =)

But yeah, they're a pretty strange group. Then again, I can't think of ANY good excuse for a cult.

No kidding.

Hey, have you heard of these wackos that believe the rantings of bronze age goat herders who claim some carpenter was born from a virgin women and who could walk on water and come back to life?!

Or how about that nutty cult that worships a meteorite, and believes that when they die they will be given 72 virgins to f*ck in the after-life?! Can you believe that?

How about that other cult who believe cows are divine and humans are born, die, and reborn, sometimes as animals?!

Etc. Etc.

It's not based on a science-fiction writer, but on his religious philosophy. Just like Confucianism is based on the teachings of Confucius, Buddhism on the teachings of Buddha, and even as Christianity is based on the teachings of Christ. There's nothing wrong with it, any more than there is anything wrong with Christianity, or Buddhism or Taoism or Islam or any other religion. What people choose to believe is a purely personal decision, one of the finer points of living in this great country of ours.

These people are brain washed to believe what they do. I have met many of them and they shared with me what they have to go through. They are blinded as to what they believe.
