I have a disk that's 1.44MB. i was wondering about how much space do i have. About how many essay's and such will i be able to store in it ?

For plain text, the Bible or Complete Works of Shakespeare are each around 5MB, so 1.44MB is quite a lot. For audio (eg MP3) at 128kbps (a typical bitrate), only about 1.5 minutes. For JPEG images, probably not more than 2-3 at 2 megapixels, up to 10 full screen, or 50 thumbnails. Word files are often 2-3 times the size of their plain text equivalent.

That's a standard 3 1/2 inch floppy. I like 'em. They fit in my shirt pocket. That's enough to hold a lot of writing or several pictures. If you write a lot, it's no problem to carry two or three of them around. It's called sneaker net.

Word docs are fairly small, most of mine average 50 KB.

could be just a picture with jpeg format.
