No they don't. This cross is a particularly bad one because the parent breeds contribute so many debilitating genetic abnormalities (especially considering most people breeding puggles are BYBs or puppy mills who DON'T do genetic testing on their stock beforehand). These dogs are prone to a myriad of health problems throughout their lives. Check out the Pug Dog Club of America http://www.pugs.org and read the articles they have on puggles.

There is no GOOD breed. It is really which one you are most compatible with. Consider your lifestyle and learn each breeds' characteristics. I have beagle...and I LOVE him. They are affectionate, need a lot of companionship and would love kids (in most cases) but they are also stubborn, escape artists and LOUD when it suits them. Mine is high energy which can mean a lot of work. But for me, I like his personality (he's interesting) and he loves kids.

I think its too early to tell about the general temperament of this new "breed" but they definitely will bark ... personally I think they look a little freaky.

I think it would make a very good pet. They are both very intelligent and good natured.
