If you have panic attacks and it makes it hard for you to be around people I wouldn't suggest that you get a job. I would suggest however that you go to a Psychiatrist and have him give you something for the attacks. You don't have to just live with the panic attacks. There are medications that will help you with them so that you will have them less often and not as severe. I have been on medications for about 5 years now for mine and rarely do I have a Panic attack. I do have anxiety however and I am on Xanax it also works on panic attacks. I would ask you doctor about it.

Do you have panic attacks or pain attacks- either way, yes get a job, but if you have a form of associaton anxiety, #1 see a doctor and a therapist, there are new pills for this type of anxiety.
But you can also get jobs for telemarketing, or internet work if you want to avoid society.

Go find yourself a job. I, too, have panic attacks and got to work everyday. The doctor put me on Lexapro which worked great for me. I think my job actually helped me through them as I am no longer on the meds and do quite well.

It sounds like you need to see a doctor. Forsake a job in the spirit of getting these "pain attacks" looked into. If you really don't know what's causing them, your very first instinct should be to go see a damn doctor. As far as your social anxiety goes, you should be fine as long as you aren't a schizo or anything like that.

do you mean panic attacks? i had them too, and i was on paxil for a while, and then i got off that and went to counselling. my psychologist told me that it's ok to find a way out of situations if i need to - it's ok for me to do what i have to do to get what i need. so go get that job, but if you get feeling in a panic, give yourself a break.

You need benefits so you can get on medication. But if you get on SSI then you can get free treatment and start a medication and then get a job with benefits to continue your treatment. I have the same thing. I finally found a job with benefits. Good luck dear.
