By that reasoning, people should spend all day talking about spiders, scorpions, snakes, horror movies, whatever people seem to be afraid of.

I think SOME (not all) believers think SOME (not all) atheists are scared, perhaps of being doomed to an eternity in hell or at the very least aeons in purgatory for not accepting god into their lives.

By the same token, I think SOME (not all) atheists think SOME (not all) believers are scared, perhaps of being able to walk the earth in the here and now without worrying about something that MAY or MAY NOT happen when they die.

I think the people on each side (as well as the agnostics in the middle) who answer/ask here -- the ones who aren't here strictly to preach one way or the other, that is -- are brave for asking the questions and/or expressing the opinions they do.

And there are people who spend all day talking about spiders, scorpions, snakes, and horror movies. They just hang out in other categories. LOL.

They have to come up with some answer for the lack of a better explanation. It is rather strange how this section is a beehive of contempt. Click on the handles of some of these people and look at their histories. They never do anything other than needle religious people.

[edit]

I just clicked on your handle and whoa ... you never leave this section! Scary. Why, if you are not religions or spiritual? I don't spend time in the "makeup" or "hair" section.

Of course they are scared and rightfully so. Many of the answers I've seen from atheists are mean spirited and hateful. No reasoning, no logic behind their statments, just filth. They claim to be intelligent free thinkers. If they really were intelligent, they would be damn scared. One thing is certain there will be no excuses before the judgment throne.

I have noted that atheists do indeed spend a lot of time in the 'religion and spirituality' sections of Yahoo! Answers, and that puzzles me. Many atheists on this venue, it seems, have a preoccupation and obsession for slamming Christain beliefs. Why would someone who doesn't believe occupy themselves in a 'religion & spirituality' forum? I further wonder why they have to be so obnocious and vulgar in their postings. My wife often asks or answers Christian questions for Christians, and in the process, most everytime, she is called really vulgar names and has a slew of insults hurled at her.
I can accept atheists posting their views, and I respect their right to be atheists. I just wish that respect would be mutually returned. I won't say that they're scared, but I will say that they (those who reply beligerantly) obviously haven't any peace.

The Googlywotsit pointed this out earlier

He mentioned how many of the believers hang out in the Gay,Lesbian and Transgendered section, and argue with them all the time.

His conclusion was that they hung out in that section because of they're really Gay on the inside, but are afraid to show it.

We only sense fear when atheists start grasping for straws and pulling hypothetical answers out of the air in response to truth that they are presented with. Especially when you finally say, No matter what you say you can't prove it because basically there is no such thing as truth, everything is subject to my opinion. Anyone realizes such a statement is foolishness, because 1+1=2 it cannot equal 3 no matter how hard you try and bend it.

WELL MAYBE THEY THINK THAT THEY SHOULD BE SCARED. I KNOW I WOULD BE. AND YOU ANALOGY OF THE SITUATION IS SO FAR OFF BASE. FEARING GOD IS A WHOLE LOT TO BE AFRAID OF COMPARED TO HORROR MOVIES, ETC. ANYWAY HAVING FAITH IS BETTER THAN NOT HAVING SOMEONE OR SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN AND GOD IS THE BEST CHOICE

And, Christians should quit talking about saving people, as they try to convince themselves of a religion they feel is not possible--------G-d coming to earth in human form. Not my G-d.
