Not really, because the people who come here legally are on the whole more educated - and usually also much better off financially to begin with - than those who have to sneak into this country, so the legal immigrants take up a different "space" in our socierty and our economy than the undocumented aliens.

Of course it does!

For one thing, Mexico isn't in the green card lottery.

Why isn't Mexico in the green card lottery?

Because there are so many illegals here from Mexico.

Also, numbers allowed in are negotiated.

As you may have noticed, the public has a tolerance for how much and how fast they want immigration to occur. When there are a lot of illegals, like now, you get lots of calls to reduce legal immigration, as you are hearing now.

It is no doubt annoying the hell out of people who are waiting to come into the country legally when they see thousands of illegals pouring into our country daily. This would cause their blood pressure to rise, having an adverse effect on their health, well being, and overall good attitude which means the legal immigrants will be one pissed off and ornery bunch. At least it will make it easier to spot the illegal ones - all the legal ones will look pissed off!

I feel it is becoming harder, but not the process itself. The people that try to do the the 'correct way' often feel helpless when they see others doing it illegally. So it hurts psychologically most.

Only in that the very few who will try to go through the legal path will make the line a little longer. But that would be a very VERY few

Of course it does.

What it means is that eventually we will be at war with Mexico but within our own borders.

Illegals dont seem to get it.. that all it takes is a little piece of paper called citizenship..
