Both use the same ingredients but pancakes are flat and waffles have lots of dents from the waffle iron. This creates a lot more surface area on the waffle, which causes it to cook a bit more crisply.

Pancakes use a self rising batter - as do waffles - waffle batter usually has a malted flavoring added to it. While pancakes are usually cooked on a griddle or grill, waffles are made with a waffle iron, which cooks both sides at once.
Isn't it nice to eat CAKE for brerakfast ..??

More or less, though waffles tend to have more leavening. And my personal favorite waffle recipe calls for beating egg whites to stiff peaks, blending the yolks with the flour, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk into a batter, then folding the two together. The result is a super-light, fluffy waffle that comes out of the iron crispy and wonderful.
We also, YEARS ago, had a sourdough starter that included a recipe for waffles. It was INCREDIBLE -- they were doughy but light, slightly tart, and just fantastic. I'll have to try to find the starter recipe again...

No difference, the batter is the same. Difference would be how they are cooked; griddle or skillet for pancakes, waffle iron for waffles.

a Little more milk in the pancake mix makes a waffle for the most part- stay away from buttermilk when adding too much buttermilk makes sticky gooey waffles.
Think cream soup verses cake batter for waffles.

just about but i think there may be a difference or two to make the consistency different....since pancakes are supposed to be soft & fluffy while waffles are to be a little bit harder & not really fluffy.

Mostly the way they are made, but waffles can have more oil and/or egg in them ... or the egg whites may be beaten until stiff and folded in for a lighter, crispier waffle.
