I would say there's a lot of truth in this statement. Anyone willing to lay down their life for you must love you a great deal. Giving your life for another or for a cause is the greatest sacrifice you can make.

Yes, that is what is says in the bible...although I remember it as "fellow man"
And,
I would not lay down my life for my friends or fellow man.
But I wouldn't hesitate to do so for my family,
Guess I don't have greater love....at least by your standards

The whole Bible is true. You can't pick and chose what you want to believe. It is all true or all false. There is no in between. Jesus died on the cross for all. He laid down His life for all His friends. Which we are.
