Yes.
Switching from a low fiber diet to a high...or in your case, very high fiber diet is not health if you do not switch gradually.
Your body will go through a shock and not know how to deal with the different amounts of fiber.
This could cause bowel problems, insomnia, headaches, stomach aches, ear infections, or continuous vomiting.
Sometimes even muscle spasms.
If I were you, I would go gradually.
Personally, I would go up on fiber a slight bit each week.
No faster than that.
That's still faster than most people would say.
I only know this because my best friend went though this, and changed her diet too fast and ended up in the hospital because her stomach acid was eating up the lining in her stomach, which caused small holes.....Her body didn't know how to react.

switching to a very hight fiber diet after a low fiber diet is not a good idea. you need to add fiber slowly or you could actually end up with constipation because your bowel movement will not contain enough water to make it soft and give it the ability to smoothly exit the body.

No, it's not "bad" but you will likely end up with some uncomfortable stomach issues such as excess gas and bloating. Switch gradually and your body will better be able to handle it without any trouble.
