SELF PROMOTION IS ONE WAY. network, network, network!!! mostly it's who you know. pull crazy stunts that get you put in the tabloids too. seriously. you need P.R. acting lessons might be good too, but honestly, i don't think most of those folks in hollywood went to acting school. (they may say they did, but let's face it. the entire cast of baywatch, dawsons creek, and all other sorts of cheezy shows, i seriously doubt any of them went to acting school, but look at how successful some of those folks have become). don't give up baby. you'll make it. just stay focused and stay away from negative people. why shouldn't you be part of the 2%?

There are acting schools all over the USA. If you want to be a serious actor, you should major in drama in college, then go to graduate school and get a Master of Arts Degree in theater.

You will be more valuable to New York and L.A. Agents with your Bachelor of Arts degree, from a university with great acting teachers, that produce brilliant actors.

take classes and take any crappy job you are offered at first unless it spiritually, morally, or legally offends you. do anything intact that publicizes you. get involved with charity events that you care about and will also publicize you. if you want it bad enough, it will happen, move to l.a. or close and work anything your ethics agree with to get there, you may work alot of crap jobs along the way til you make it, but worth it if you truly want acting bad enough!!! the wife on raymond bounced around for over ten years before she was discovered, go for your destiny!! she is filthy rich now!! oh ya, her name is patricia heaton. just read her book, maybe buy it and read it yourself and see what she went thru. she is a prime example of not your typical star, but she wanted it bad enough....you can do it!!

Acting takes a special knowledge of exhibitionism.
Facial expressions. hand motions, and exhilarating breathe. Ever notice on shows that actors take loud breathes when speaking...its part of the art.

I've been acting for years and I am here to tell you that the best actors are those who are exhibitionists....it's a fact!!

then do research for rolls in commercials and stuff and audition. if you dont get it the first time then try again until you get something. thats how most actors became famous......they have been in your spot too. they have lost rolls more time than you think and they didnt give up. go for it.
