I recommended that the church ladies group get together this weekend for some feminine bonding time. Then someone suggested to our club president Lilly Purcell that we should to the the male strip club downtown. She agreed! We all agreed! But then she said that we can't tell anyone, even the pastor or the elders about our little outing.
Is it okay for us to do this and just keep it our little secret as the ladies church group?

This has all the potential for a major backfire. Someone is going to feel guilty about it sooner or later and blab. I've seen people in my church be made outcast for less. On that basis alone, I'd say it wasn't worth the risk. If your group DOES go, at least don't go during your regularly scheduled meeting time; that would increase the guilt factor (and thereby, the blab chance). Personally, I have no problem with going to a strip club.

It would seem the underlying question you're asking is that if it's ok to do it, then why keep it a secret? This is not un-like an outting a group of us husbands had when our wives had a girl's weekend away. Seemed like some of us were able to tell our wives and some weren't - then the wives shared. That was the last guys night out.

Getting together outside off work, church or any club is not illegal or against any rules as long as you don't force people to go. You are human everyone needs to blow off a little steam and do something fun if that's what you all want to do. Your no less spiritual. Have a good time and enjoy.
