Seriously.... I like eating rocks.... I have rock eating urges. I hear some dogs do it too.

Someone once told me it means I have an iron deficiency, so I now take multivitamines...but that hasn't helped! What should I do?

Rocks? Sounds like you have the eating disorder 'Pica' to me.

"Pica, a widely misunderstood phenomenon, is defined as a compulsive craving for eating, chewing or licking non-food items or foods containing no nutrition. These can include such things as chalk, plaster, paint chips, baking soda, starch, glue, rust, ice, coffee grounds, and cigarette ashes. It may sometimes be linked to certain mineral deficiencies (i.e., iron or zinc). Pica can be associated with, developmental delays, mental deficiencies and/or a family history of the disorder. There may be psychological disturbances that lead to Pica as well, such as conditions in which a child lives in a low-income or poor family, or who lives in an environment of little love and support.

Because of the inherent danger in eating non-food items, it is extremely important that an individual suffering with Pica be evaluated by a doctor, given the correct diagnosis, and treated promptly. The treatment that will follow will depend on the causes of the behavior. If the compulsion is driven by a vitamin or mineral deficiency, supplements will be prescribed; Examination of the home environment, behavior-modification therapy and psychological treatment may also be needed.

Pica is fairly common in pregnant women and symptoms usually disappear following the birth of the child.

Complications of pica can include lead poisoning, malnutrition, abdominal problems, intestinal obstruction, hypokalemia, hyperkalemia, mercury poisoning, phosphorus intoxication, and dental injury."

All I can advise is that you go see your doctor or counsellor about this.

It isn't flawed to believe completely satisfied. To say it's flawed is the manifestation of a egocentric brain. One demands to interchange the egocentric brain with a brain that's earnest to support others. An act to make one more completely satisfied conjures up the opposite to make nonetheless one more completely satisfied, and so happiness is born from such an act. Thousand of candles can also be lighted from a unmarried candle and the lifetime of the candle might not be shortened. Happiness under no circumstances decreases by way of sharing. Be a rainbow in any person's cloud.

This is called Pica, and qualifies as an eating disorder. It's also dangerous, as your intestines were not designed to handle rocks, dirt, sponges, talcum powder, and all the other weird **** people with this disorder eat. Seek help.

it's not really wrong, well not to me anyway, but most people would see it as wrong, but i don't think it means you have iron deficiency, mabey you just like the saltly tase of rocks, i know a lot of animals that lick rocks just to get some of the salt, so mabey it's just you like the salt.

you are deficient in something. is this the only 'odd' food choice that you have? if you ever eat other things you may have a disease, i believe its called pica, how do you eat them by the way? how would one chew a rock?

It sounds like the eating disorder "pica".
I'd recommend getting medical help.

"Infants and children commonly ingest paint, plaster, string, hair, and cloth. Older children tend to ingest animal droppings, sand, insects, leaves, pebbles, and cigarette butts. Adolescents and adults most often ingest clay or soil."
