It's true of every single human being who ever lived. Even if you never engaged in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies or carousing, all unbelievers are engaged in idolatry.
So yes, this Scripture is true.
Peace.

First it is NOT because you are quoting from a corrupt text of the Bible here is the real verses
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 ¶ Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

2Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is Godbreathed and is useful for teaching rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be fully equipped for every good work"
The book of Luke is written by a physician/historian. Your use of scripture tell me you are searching. Keep up the good work.

I believe it's generally true... one wonders about what the original meaning of each verse was because some things can be lost in translation. I think if one was to summarize all this, you could mainly think: If you do wrong, there will be an accounting of it and you will be judged.

Yes it's true. I believe anything in the Bible is the inspired word of God, and it is the truth. This verse in particular speaks about one's inward, driving desire to live a different life once they've commited their lives to God (in Christ). But, b/c we still live in this world, that's hard to do and our "old lives" are always coming back to tempt us. Also, it's true. Most people in my life do not understand why I don't want to do those things anymore and give me a hard time for it. But God is soooo worth anything they can dish out!

Yes - the Bible is God's inspired Word, and every part of it is true.
It's as relevant today as it has always been.

all scripture is true and holds meaning in different styles of writing techniques etc. however to understand it we need to put all the pieces together and not pick out excerpts to prove or disprove something for arguments sake. put it in context and know him more nearly and dearly.

I would think it's saying that you should not join in when sin comes your way, although you will be made fun of , and probably called names, but stand firm, because They will have to be judged according to their sin.
